The Tesla Earthquake machine is another matter.  It didn't work, because it can't work, and it never did work.  The only person who can vouch for most of Tesla's claims was himself, and he was an egomaniacal nutcase.

Blasphemy! Tesla>anyone anytime.

Elephant guns require three guys to shoot them, two to hold them and one to aim and fire. I've heard that more people died firing them than elephants killed by the guns.

Would you mind linking to an example of such a gun?  "Elephant gun" is a pretty imprecise term, but most rifles given that label were certainly meant to be fired by a single person

I forgot to clarify, the elephant guns I'm talking about were used when the exploration of Africa only just started happening, not WWI, WWII or onwards. I don't have any pictures of the gun I'm talking about, quick image search found nothing of what I'm talking about, but it was about 8ft long.

E: And to clarify some more, this information about 'three guys' didn't come from some museum worker or whatever, it came from 2nd-3rd hand source, (from any scientific source).

E2:

Closest thing I've found.

It was about 2ft longer than this.

I went to a thing in Chicago a while ago and watched Adam and Jamie.
They showed a clip that will never air on TV. You CAN light your farts on fire.

They also said something about wanting to do an entire episode on the cool things you can 'supposedly' do with duct tape, but their producers "didn't get what would be so interesting" about that and turned the idea down.

A show already did that, it's called The Red Green show.

That would get points for uniqueness at least.

Desert Eagles. How cute. Talk to me when you have a weapon that can break your wrist every time you fire it and makes a good club without any ammo in it.

 Oh, wait...

MB actually try to use scientific method in testing, in stead of just talking about it.
Their experiments tend to be well thought out generally (albeit some insane myths cannot be tested by logic)
They also scale their tests (to destruction usually) which is a good approach when desingning tests.

Compared to most 'scientific' shows (in particular brittish ones such as Brainiac and MadLabs) which design their experiments to be most spectacular, not usefull.
Reproduction is never attempted and false values are ignored or even interpreted as being positive.
(personally I suspect failed 'tests' are deleted and add more gunpowder for take2)

For a popular program, MB are doing fine. They cannot spend years running tests on falling elevators. ...OK that last example was more show than scientific experimentation, which would have called for a repeatable test-rig.

anyhow. :P

Since you mentioned the elevator drop myth, they did confirm the one that happened in the Empire State building. The elevator was slowed down by air pressure since the lift was such a snug fit. In fact, it slowed down enough for the person jumping to be traveling at a low enough speed (About 15KM/h) when she hit the ground.
