A quick game is a good game! And if I can type when my creative juices are running, all the better!
Strife26:
You suddenly relise that you didn't search the desk before shoving it infront of the door!
"Stupid, there could be something useful in there!" you child yourself. You need to drag it away from the door though to open it and do so after carefully peeking out the door to make sure that there is nothing there. Seeing nothing out of the ordinary, you search the desk and find... nothing.
Damnit.
You feel disheartened after this effort and decide to leave this miserable building somehow. You realise that this is actually a good idea as the door you barricaded was the only enterance and the window is high off the ground, far higher than you could safely drop. You don't know how to go down those stairs safely in the dark though, there could be something there... You need to find some sort of power switch.
Opening the door carefully once again, you look both ways along the narrow corridor and notice a ladder leading up at the end. How could you not have noticed that before? You must really be sick... You lean against the wall for another breather after the effort of moving the desk.
shoruke:
This place is creepy... really creepy. You slowly walk down the stairs, pointing your gun at wherever something could pop out. Nothing does though and as you step into the large puddle of water, you hear a splat. You spin around but relise it came from your feet. Then you remember... the water... Sure you give out noise walking around in this stuff, but so does anything else! You can hear them coming if you listen hard enough, whoever they are.
Figments of your imagination you tell yourself as you explore the main basement room. You don't find much though, just junk that wont be useful: rusted bent nails, a broken hammer, shorted out fuses mainly. You slowly approach the doors, and in a fit of inspiration you knock to see if you can hear anything react. You only hear the echo of your own knock though, that and the occasional drip of water from the roof. You open the closed door and push it open, steping back from the doorway incase something jumps out. Nothing does though, once again, and you see nothing but darkness. Feeling the inside of the doorway of the dark room you find a switch and flick it to reveal...
The furnace room. Or thats what you think its called, judging by the large furnace looking thing with ashes in it. There is also what looks like a water heater and a large bulb like thing you recognise as the bottom of the boiler! EUREKA! However, your toolbox isn't in here but there should be other useful stuff.
You walk over to the other slightly open door and push it all the way open and see a wine cellar. There is another trusty lightswitch right next to you which reveals a couple of things, another dark doorway which seems to be the main source of the water, wine racks and two boots sticking out from behind a wine rack. You feel uneasy, that can't be good.
Katsuun:
You reckon that these builders were at least smart enough to keep the key to the shed on the area they were working on, but you wonder where they would put it. You see no accomodation settings here, so that must mean that they actually live in the city. Damn. Where else...
The trailer! It must be a planners, organisers, whatevers thing for keeping plans and stuff! And naturally, the key should be in there! You quickly walk back to the trailer and begin a search for the key and find it hanging on a hook on the wall. Sweet.
You head back out into the rain and head over to the shed, unlocking it and you shove the door open. You find inside various large power tools; circular saws, jackhammers, grinders, jigsaws and others you can't identify. And also a couple of large metal cupboards which is where the workers store their hand tools! YES! You try to open them but you are disappointed to see that they are locked. Damn, the workers must have their own keys. And there were no other keys in the trailer. Damn again.
You look helplessly around the shed and find a set of boltcutters which cheer you up somewhat. At least its something.
webadict:
You logically think that the key to the back would be somewhere easily reachable. The counter is a good bet. You hop over the black counter top and look the entire thing over and find two keys. One is labeled 'back key' and the other 'emergency only'. You take both and wonder what the second is used for. There are some cupboards here, so lets try em. The key doesn't work for any of them but it does unlock one of them, which had the word emergency on it. You open it and your jaw drops in shock.
Right infront of you is the biggest handgun you have ever seen. You recall its type of model as a revolver and the thing is HUGE. You pick it up in one hand and it weights quite a bit, half a kilo really. You sit down and look it over, making sure not to point it at yourself. On the barrel are the words: Python 357. You find a latch that opens the gun's cylinder thingie and you see that its fully loaded with 6 bullets. You find out how it unloads (by hitting the stick thing on the cylinder) and you put the 6 bullets back in and push the cylinder back into the gun. You look in the emergency cupboard once more and find another 18 bullets, all of which you pocket. Man, this owner must have been serious about job security...
You put the emergency key back on its hook after closing the cupboard and remember the back of the shop. You walk over to the door and use the 'back' key on the door, which works and unlocks it. There is no lights on and you look for a light switch and find one next to the doorframe. You flick it and find that there is a corridor that splits into two different ways in a T section that is right infront of the door. On the walls are masses of shoe boxes and the corridor goes around a corner on both ways.
You grip your revolver firmly and smile, happy at your new find.
Org:
You carefully sneak up to the corpse from behind it and take out your tazer. You aim carefully at the creature and shoot! The darts hit dead on, right in the back! The tazer pumps out large amounts of electricity! The zombie twitches madly but then starts to turn around towards you! DAMMIT!
You drop your tazer, useless for the moment, and quickly take your cleaver out of your backpack. You struggle for a bit as you have to rummage for it but thankfully the corpse is going nowhere fast. You pull it out and raise it over your head and slam the blade into the zombies skull! It cleaves its way right into its brain and the zombie drops dead immediately. Nice.
You pull the cleaver out and wipe it on the rags the zombie wears before putting it back into your pack. You really need to find a way to get that thing out faster but you are currently more concerned with your tazer. Why didn't it work? You stand there for a bit thinking and conclude that it did work, it was a direct hit after all and it twitched, but apparently electricity has little effect on these things. You unplug the darts from the tazer when you relise that you wont be able to shoot them again. You can still use it as a hand weapon though, its still got enough charge for some more shocks you reckon.
You look up and relise that you almost wandered away from the path! You better be careful not to get lost...
Shikogan:
"Relax, I won't shoot you just at this moment."
"R-r-really?Y-you wont?"
"Unless you don't answer some questions or threaten me in anyway. Both would be nice. First, who are you? Second, why are you here? Thrid, do you know anything useful? And no funny business!" You wave your pistol around for emphasis.
"Okokok! My name is George, I was looking here for stuff that we and two others could use and what would you classify as useful?"
"Hmmm, the two others you speak of, you are all living together in a shelter?"
"Yeah, if you want, you can come live with us if you don't be mean and all. Like you are now."
You think for a bit on this topic. His friends could be really useful to your survival, as they say safety in numbers. And they have shelter! And possibly other stuff! Sounds like a sweet deal to you.
"Ok, I accept your terms my good man." You holster your gun to prove your point. "I wouldn't mind some human company at all. I'd prefer it actually. A bit disheartening to be alone in this city with all these freaks."
"Great! Awesome! I'll lead you to our shelter, its on the banks of the river but you won't get in without us knowing that your ok. Follow me!"
George then shoulders his bag and promptly leaves, with you in tow. He goes right out the front door and into the rain after looking behind him to check on you. You give a small wave and a raised eyebrow to reassure him. You both go out into the rain and down the street. Its still raining hard and you are curious.
"Hey man, why is it raining so hard? It never used to rain like this before."
"Ever since this all happened, the weather has freaked out or something. Its random and unpredictable to the extreme, you could be walking down the street in perfect weather, then get hit by a heatwave, soaked by rain, hammered by hail and then frozen by snowfall, all in an hour! Its wild man, and there has even been rumours that this isn't constant all over the city, it could be raining here and be parched dry the next block over! And the tempreture is just as bad, but thankfully it stays with the current weather so you wont be boiling hot in snow or freezing cold in a heatwave. But I've seen a guy unconcious from the sheer heat once, and I'm guessing that it could be the same for cold!"
"So how do you adjust to this?" You yell over the rain to George.
"You can't! You just have to be prepared for everything if possible, or take the best stuff you have! Preferably cold since you could get frostbite in seconds without shelter! It's serious shit man and clothing has just got so much more important!" he yells back. Suddenly, the rain stops in an instant. Your eyes widen in shock.
"Holy shit man..."
"See what I mean? We best move as fast as possible before it turns to the worse." George replies curtly. You nod in agreement and hurry after him.
