Oh, by the way, shouldn't there be a melee combat skill? Not that I wanted to take anything like that, but it just seems like something that should be there.

I attempt to force myself to get used to the sight of mutilated bodies so that I wont vomit again by investigating the rest of the store and trying to get that mystery object on the counter.

"Well, the more people there were in any part of the city, the more zombies, but probably also more survivors. Until we can defend ourselves better, though, I think our best bet is to stay away from the dense residential areas and try to find a radio. I know where a couple hardware stores are; we should be able to find one there."

Action depends on what the rest of the group has to say, but I'm definitely for sticking together.

I rest for a bit to regain my determination, and then quietly set back up the stairs. I shoot the piranha plant from the maximum range possible, so that if I can't kill it and it decides to attack me, I still have a chance at running downstairs again.
