Stupid keyboard shortcuts, it made me delete the turns once. Not happy.
Oh well.
Katsuun:
You head around back, thinking to look through a back window and meet a problem. There are no windows, only a door.
"Its better than nothing, I guess."
You try the door and, suprisingly, find it unlocked. You swing it open without a sound and find only darkness before you.
"Lightswitch... There has to be one here somewhere..."
You run your hands all over the inside of the doorframe, looking for a switch, and find one on the right. You flick it and the lights almost instantly flash on. To your horror. There, revealed by the lights and leaning against a metal door, is a body of a man. Or whats left at any rate. The corpse is missing its entire lower body, which appears to have been ripped away brutally, exposing and snapping the spine of the poor man. He is also missing an arm, which appears to be either ripped away or gnawed off. The neck is only a bloody piece of exposed spine, all the flesh and tissue eaten away. The body is missing most of its flesh, as well as most of the organs, some entrails trailing around a corner leading right. The head is the most sickening part though, part of the skull are exposed and an eyeball is missing. The face is caked with blood, missing its nose as well, and is frozen in sheer horror and agony. He looks like he was eaten alive.
You rush back and puke your guts out onto the cement. You stay there for quite awhile too, hunched over in shock. You manage to pull yourself together sufficently so you don't gag from the memory.
"Come on... pull it together... you need to get used to this sort of thing..."
You straighten and take a deep breath. You enter the store again and while carefully avoiding the corpse as much as you can, you peer around the corner. You are looking over the counter, and you spot very little as the lights are dim due to a covering of what looks like blood. Nice. You spot 3 swaying people which are among the knocked over and broken isles. The floor is mostly covered by blood and broken shelving. You think you spot some bags by the back of the store, as well as another body. Before you duck outside to get away from the stench, you spot something long and dark lying on the counter. You don't know what it is, but it looks like it was placed there. After taking a good look, you still don't know what it is and you decide to take a break from the horrible smell. You head back outside and take a breather.
Now what?
Org:
You look around the cabin properly for the first time. There is one word that can accurately describe this place: dump. There is all sorts of crap all over the floor, rubbish mainly, but there are some plant vines that are coming in through a broken window. They look like ivy but they are wilted and dead. You still reckon that there may be something useful in here but the rubbish is concealing everything pretty good. You search anyway, and after awhile of tossing wrappers and cans over your shoulder, you take a break and look at what you found. You found a coil of 1 meter long metal cord, which you stuff into your backpack. This stuff is used in snares you remember, so it should be pretty strong.
You take a look over the cabin again and see something like box on a table by the wall. You rip some vines away and reveal a radio! It's old but it looks like it's in shape and there is a microphone which you can talk into to communicate to others! You switch the radio on but nothing happens. No lights flash on or anything. It mustn't have power...
You step back, leaving the radio for now and think about this new complication. There must be a generator or something around here somewhere...
Strife26:
You shove the desk away once more and enter the corridor again. You still don't want to go down, its too dark and dangerous, so you decide to go up instead. You climb the ladder rungs up a short way and come out onto the roof of the offices. You look around and spot something on the wall, almost completely obscured in the dark. Something with cables leading to it. A junction box! You walk over and run your hands over it, and find some switches above the box. You flick them all and lights explode into life! You turn around and excitedly look over the warehouse and...
"Oh shit..."
There are bodies all over the floor of the warehouse. Most of them are lying on the ground but you spot three bodies wondering around in the isles, moaning from being disturbed from the lights. There are at least 12 bodies that you can see, but the stairwell is clear of obstructions and the nearest body is about 5 meters from the door.
You sit down to ponder your predicament...
Webadict:
"Shitshitshitshitshitshit...Need to get out of here..."
You almost panic but you remember the gun you're holding. You quickly point the mighty revolver at the approaching zombie and brace yourself as you pull the trigger!
Nothing happens. Why is-
BOOM!
Oh.
The kickback is so much more than you immagined, it almost rips the gun from your hands! You take a step back from the sheer force and look at your handiwork. The zombie was thrown to the floor from the sheer force, but it's getting back up! You take a closer look and see that a hole was blown through it's torso, in the upper chest. You aim the revolver at the monsters head this time and fire again. It's a perfect hit and blood, bits of bone and brain matter spray over the floor as the slug passes through the zombies head like a hot knife through butter. The sheer force makes the corpse bounce off the floor a couple of centimeters and the zombie lies still. You inspect your handiwork once more and see a hole just above its right eye.
"Shit..."
You give the gun a new look of respect. A nasty piece of work indeed. Then you hear the thumping suddenly stop outside the door and you turn, just in time, to see...
A man wielding an axe burst through the door, axe raised to kill! You raise the gun again and when the man sees you, he stops and yells:
"Don't shoot! Don't shoot! I won't hurt you!"
You keep the gun pointed at him shakily as he puts the axe down after seeing the dead zombie. He straightens with his hands in the air as a sign of peace.
"W-who are you?" you demand of the stranger.
"Easy, you can put that down now. My name is Mark Stone, I'm a police officer who's stranded just like you and, just like you, I'm trying to survive. I won't hurt you, so can you please put that down?"
You look at Mark closely and indeed see the badge hanging off his belt. You slowly lower the gun, but don't put it away.
"Thanks. Can I put my hands down now?"
"Sure. Just don't do anything funny, eh?"
"Ok ok, I won't. Promise."
You both stand there looking at each other for a bit. Mark is wearing a pair of slightly bloodstained jeans, a pair of what looks like combat boots, a dark blue t-shirt, black fingerless gloves and a brown wool beanie. There is a backpack slung over his shoulders and you notice the holstered pistol on his waist. He has brown hair, hazel eyes, a chin with a small bit of stubble on it and has lightly tanned skin. His body looks like it works out every now and then but he still looks a bit lean. Streamlined, if thats possible. He looks dirty and like he has recently been through a rough patch or two, but looks overall in decent shape.
"So... looking for shoes?"
Shoruke:
Still freaked out by the missing corpse, you think your situation over carefully. You want to fortify the hotel, so you don't want to leave it, but going up the stairs means possibly meeting whatever took the body, or perhaps even caused them! Nonetheless, you decide to head up the stairs, gun first while putting on a brave face. You move slowly up the stairs, placing your feet near the edges of the stairs so they don't creek as much. Stealth is the name of the game...
You make it to the top of the stairs and slowly peer around the doorway, checking the corridor. The bloodtrail continues down the corridor and seems to enter the foyer. Thinking that anything may sneak up behind you, you leave the basement fully and shut the door behind you, locking it to be sure. You never know...
Proceeding down the corridor, you reach the foyer and stop before you can observe the entire foyer. You can hear something, its like a shhh with a small creek or two mixed in. Then a wet sounding shulp that occurs every now and then. Not a good sign. You put your back against the wall and slowly and silently edge your way along it. You peer out into the foyer to observe something horrible.
There, in the middle of the foyer and just before the doors, which are now broken, is the biggest, nastiest, badass looking plant you have ever seen. It looks a bit like the plant from the little shop of horrors, as it has a buld like mouth that is currently slowly swallowing the corpse of the dead guy, which is dripping blood. The plant hasn't sensed you, you don't know how it senses, and there are multiple tenticles that wave around it, some with spikes near the ends. These 'limbs' originate from the bottom of the bulb part. Strange smaller tentacles also come from the bottom of the bulb and they splay out into large leaves, big as a dinner plate, which stay just above the ground. You see fine hairs coming from these leaves, and these long hairs touch the ground all around the mutant plant. In total, the plant is as big as you are and its tentacles are at least 3 meters long, some even longer as they reach and brush across the bottom of the stairs, 5 meters away!
You back away back where you came from slowly, watching the plant all the way, and even when the plant is out of sight, you keep sneaking away from it, backing down back to the basement corridor. What do you do now?
Shikogan, Vanigo and Archangel:
You all chat for awhile, introducing yourselves and how you survived to the current day, while giving a little about your background.
One guy, who looks as strong as Matt, called himself Asa Corpse. Everyone looks at him strange as he explains that his parents loved to call their children after puns. His brother, Corporal Cana Bull, is evident of that. Asa says that he is currently looking for his brother, he was part of the military and was sent here to do something. Since Asa couldn't get into the military himself, he had to 'borrow' a radio from a trooper he found on the way here. The trooper was originally from a massive blockade that surrounded the city, noone gets in, noone gets out. They even tried to kill him when they saw him, he only just got away but he had to elave the radio behind. He said that he wasn't real popular with the law enforcing side of society, due to a couple of things he did in his past. He wouldn't say what, but the tone was more than enough. He wasn't here when the bombs dropped, as he was currently staying with a couple of friends in a safe place somewhere in texas.
The second guy called himself Jake. He was a sculpter of aspiring skill, meaning not very good but working on it as he said. He lived in the city when the bombs dropped and when he heard the news from a reporter friend that had links in the military, he made his way to appropiate shelter at the university and stayed there with some other students. He left when he realised that he couldn't stay there forever and made his own way from there.
Jake already knew George because he had already introduced himself to him. He also went to the same uni that Jake took shelter at because he was learning to be a programmer there, and just like Jake he went there for shelter with others. He said he was born here and a friend owned this shack which they were currently inside of. He had a spare key and decided that it was a good a place as any and came here. Just like everyone else, he didn't know of what the bombs had done to the city. They were all shocked at the drastic change that had gone underway.
"So, what do we do now?" Matt asked.
"I heard from the radio that I borrowed from the trooper that I had told you about, that they were prepping for a final extraction of the city. They were sending out messages over the radio as well as putting up signs where they could safely do so. If we are gonna get out of here alive, this is our last chance." Asa replied in a slight monotone.
"When are they coming? Where will they pick us up?" Jake questioned.
"I don't know, I didn't get enough time to find out."
George nodded sadly at this predicament. "And they won't let us out on foot, because they think that we could be like 'them' or make others become like 'them'."
"I'd guess so."
"So, we need to find out where the extraction point is and when to get there, right?"
Everyone nodded agreement at this. It seemed like a decent plan and it was the only way out of this hell.
"So we need to find some guys that either know where and when the extraction takes place, or find a working radio to find out ourselves. All in this maze of a city that is infested with monsters."
"That's pretty much it, I guess."
Everyone was silent as they thought about their possible escape. Then Jake looked at everyone and said:
"So what do we do now?"
