Terribly sorry if this is in the bloat list somewhere - I didn't see it.

All caravans, even elves, should come with a healthy supply of gold, silver, copper coins. It seems like basic merchant stuff. This would help in two huge ways. 1) getting ready and maintaining coin supply for the economy, especially when any or all the precious metals are unavailable on the map, and 2) a reliable way of getting rid of the endless supply of goblin trash. It would also give at least one reason not to drop the elves into your bottomless pit (oh, that's what that lever does...)

Further, this seems to me a VERY simple addidtion to the game.

A dwarf fort just can't be a proper dwarf fort without an overflowing treasury.

DF - because the only way to properly raise a dwarven infant is by carrying it into battle in lieu of a shield.

Sure it can! I have a quantum treasury! I never check, so I may or may not actually have a massive amount of coins!  The larger amount of coins I imagine I must have, the better it seems to work.

Just so I remember

They still should have their metal value, at the least.

Traditionally, this would be the only value coins every really had... Their merit is a known metal weight per coin.
