Unconventional weapons

Where can I pick up weapons other than the usual guns(pawn shop or black market), axes(fire station), and shivs(prison)?  I'm specifically looking for flamethrowers and swords.

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

I think you need to get Free Speech to conservative or conservative+ for firemen/firefighters (I forget which were which) to show up carrying flamethrowers.
