Super RTD!
« on: March 12, 2009, 04:16:34 pm »

I believe everyone is familiar with the way an RTD works?
If you aren't:
Spoiler: Clicky! (click to show/hide)

This RTD will be based in the Marvel universe. I may include characters from other comics too, if I feel like it.

At the start of the game you may choose one superpower, or two normal human skills that you are very good at, eg. climbing, marksmanship. If you choose a superpower you will have that superpower, if you choose skills you will have a +1 bonus to them, you can't choose to have a +2 to a single skill. No overpowered superpowers, you are just small-time superpeople at the start of the game. You will be able to acquire additional superpowers, but this will require good rolls. Additionally, if you choose skills you will be given some equipment if that is necessary for that skill to be useful, eg. firearms. This equipment won't be very impressive however, just enough to let you use that skill.

Also, you will have to create a nice HQ, no superpeople-league is complete without one! At first it won't be too impressive, but as you get richer and more powerful you will be able to expand it.

The universe you will live in will be populated by Marvel characters, and it is assumed that nothing has really happened before the game starts. I will not spare you the humiliation of having your asses handed to you if you decide to attack the most powerful characters right away. You will start on Earth, in New York City.

Fighting: First I roll to see if you are successful in launching your attack. Then I roll to see if you hit. And then I roll for damage. Being attacked by several enemies in the same turn will not give a negative to any rolls, unless you are injured by their attacks in which case any negative to rolls you receive from your injuries are applied to subsequent attacks. On an initial roll of 5 or 6 you get +1 to damage, if you get a 5 on accuracy you get a further +1. On dodge rolls of 1 there will be +1 damage.

And one last thing: You may have noticed that I used the term ”superpeople”. This is because I won't try to force you into being heroes, if you want to be villains you can be. This is up to a majority vote though.

Also, you should write a small description of your character, just a sentence or two. And you should name your group so the people know what they should call you.

When I have five players and you have chosen your group name as well as if you are heroes or villains I will write a small introduction. Also, I will most likely not be able to write much on Fridays and Saturdays most weeks.

If you go without posting for extended periods of time without giving notification first I'll put you at the back of the waiting list.

Having just gotten back into City of Heroes, I can't resist inflicting my languishing character ideas on your game.  Count me in.

I wish to be called Rishitor. I am a viking, with a spear, and I was given immortality by a god, so I can live forever. Unless I die, of course

Since that power is mostly useless in the game I will give you a +1 to hit with spears as well.
Which god gave you immortality? This information may be useful later...
And do you vote good or bad?

I have not stated my power yet. Just a little background. The god: well, I would be joking when I say this but:Gork, now more seriously:Thor, Rishitor's Godly Patron. Good....that is what I am thinking...

I'm in.

I'd like to be called Longshot.

Superpower:
Freakishly lucky.

He also likes to throw things, like throwing knives.

Alignment: Neutral

(Loosely based on a comic book character that I loved as a kid. Or maybe not so loosely. To be honest, I can't really remember.

Oh, and I'm typically only active on weekdays. So no Sat. or Sun. for me. If it's a problem feel free to drop me.)

Ok, now we have enough players. Now you just need to create characters, decide if you will be heroes or villains and name your group.

And it is no problem if you are inactive at times, if you are delaying the turn I will pick your action.

So far the group vote is...

1:good
1:bad
1:neutral.

This could easily become a tie.

Not with five people in the party, unless one votes for good and the other for evil. That would mean I get to decide!

Heh.

Don't worry. I accept bribes.

And you know it's the bad guys who hand out the bribes around here.

*bribes PF a bribe that was uncounterable first, and is also larger.*

But the good guys also deal bribes, although the process could turn into a long process involving lawyers....

hands PF a counter bribe, that is uncounterable
