I exit the fortress and travel a good distance away, perhaps five miles or so, and begin deconstructing and reconstructing buildings into stronger, more artistic shapes, still functional for their original purposes.

((On a side note, I thought there were electronics on hand... oh well))

Making sure I'm nowhere near John at the time, I ask Lucien if Mr. Roosts is around. If he's in the fortress, I go find him, shake him out of whoever he's manipulating to touch themselves in public, and ask him if he can help me hypnotize the guy I've got down in the lobby, as I'd rather not kill him.

I imagine that the flash was the nuke, but does your character know about that?

I really meant more of a freeze time sort of thing, so I could walk around and flick bullets into peoples faces.

I ask somebody to fire at me from a distance, so I can then parry the bullet using my super speed.

And was that flash of light Xen's nuclear experiment or some other weapon?
It was Xen's experiment. He did basically set off a small thermonuclear explosion near the fortress, so it'd be strange if it couldn't be seen.

I'd rather have the guy die thinking we were trying to defend him from evil as opposed to heartlessly killing him. Of course, hypnotizing him is the best option. It's kind of weird, but that's how Reaper's mind works.
