I believe everyone is familiar with the way an RTD works?
If you aren't:
I roll a die, the number decides how well you do.
1 – Epic fail. You failed in a spectacular fashion.
2 – Standard fail. You failed, quite simple really.
3 – Partial success. Basically, you do nothing in most cases.
4 – Success. You succeed. Well done!
5 - Epic success. You succeed in a very positive way, extra good.
6 - Overshot. You succeed but in a way which produces unwanted side-effects.
This RTD will be based in the Marvel universe. I may include characters from other comics too, if I feel like it.
At the start of the game you may choose one superpower, or two normal human skills that you are very good at, eg. climbing, marksmanship. If you choose a superpower you will have that superpower, if you choose skills you will have a +1 bonus to them, you can't choose to have a +2 to a single skill. No overpowered superpowers, you are just small-time superpeople at the start of the game. You will be able to acquire additional superpowers, but this will require good rolls. Additionally, if you choose skills you will be given some equipment if that is necessary for that skill to be useful, eg. firearms. This equipment won't be very impressive however, just enough to let you use that skill.
Also, you will have to create a nice HQ, no superpeople-league is complete without one! At first it won't be too impressive, but as you get richer and more powerful you will be able to expand it.
The universe you will live in will be populated by Marvel characters, and it is assumed that nothing has really happened before the game starts. I will not spare you the humiliation of having your asses handed to you if you decide to attack the most powerful characters right away. You will start on Earth, in New York City.
Fighting: First I roll to see if you are successful in launching your attack. Then I roll to see if you hit. And then I roll for damage. Being attacked by several enemies in the same turn will not give a negative to any rolls, unless you are injured by their attacks in which case any negative to rolls you receive from your injuries are applied to subsequent attacks. On an initial roll of 5 or 6 you get +1 to damage, if you get a 5 on accuracy you get a further +1. On dodge rolls of 1 there will be +1 damage.
And one last thing: You may have noticed that I used the term ”superpeople”. This is because I won't try to force you into being heroes, if you want to be villains you can be. This is up to a majority vote though.
Also, you should write a small description of your character, just a sentence or two. And you should name your group so the people know what they should call you.
When I have five players and you have chosen your group name as well as if you are heroes or villains I will write a small introduction. Also, I will most likely not be able to write much on Fridays and Saturdays most weeks.
