[40d9] FPS in Vista is zero

I tried almost everything, but still, my fps on Vista is zero. Yes, an actual ZERO. On other computers (weaker than mine) everything went fine, average fps of 26 or so, but here, a freaky zero ;(.
I've got 2 gigs of ram, 2.8 Ghz processor, 256 mb video card (not high end, but it should be really enough for Dwarf Fortress...). Tried to cap the fps, turn off, use all of the compatibility modes, nothing helped. Please, help, I wanna play this at home :(.

Turned on Partial Print and everything went fine.
