1/2 of the engravings are about the first mayor being elected, or the founding of the fort.

remind me not to have any of the original 7 be engravers ever again. this has happened like 3 times now.

A masterpiece engraveing of a Dwarf the dwarf is engraveing... I had to check, it was indeed an engraving of the engraver engraving the engraving.

Those lucky dwarves, despite the risk of being stabbed, shots, poisoned, eaten, mauled, enslaved, eviscerated or involved in accidents... at least they don’t have to worry about immediate dangers like the heat death of the universe.

In my current fort, half the engravings in the first room I engraved, and a quarter of the engravings ever since, have been renditions of an image of 2 goblets.
And I STILL haven't found the original...

The 2 goblets could be the symbol of either your civ or your group.  DF is smart that way.  :)
