Locked doors and lead barrels.

Wall everything in. Dont leave any gaps. Abandon.

You would need to use the bones to provide support for the leather. Otherwise you wouldn't have anything more than a glorified *elven leather bag*. One made with straight bones would probably either fall apart of have too many empty spaces in its surface that small items could fall out of. This thing has to be strong enough to carry gold bars.

I don't see how these would last more than seconds in a dwarven fortress.

Hollow glass=fragile.
Solid glass=durable
thicker=stronger
thinner=weaker

that pretty much sums up glass.

You can allow or stop your dwarves from eating these mushrooms, but it's entirely optional and doesn't turn Dwarf Fortress into Dwarf hookah-smoking pad.

Indeed. Glass is actually considerably stronger than a similarly shaped piece of stone. It just has a reputation for breakability because we exploit our ability to mold it into freakishly thin surfaces that we would never dream of carving rock into. Imagine carving a 0.5 m x 0.5 m x 1 mm pane of some sort of rock. It will break well before a similar pane of glass ever would.

I own a set of drinking glasses thick enough that I can drop them on flagstone without one shattering. If one hits exactly right, it may chip or develop a crack and have to be thrown out... but otherwise they bounce. I think dwarves would build at least this robustly just by virtue of being dwarves.

Note that you can't make bins and barrels out of stone, either...
