Insane dwarf kills all: Discovered teleporting
« on: March 09, 2009, 09:31:31 pm »

http://mkv25.net/dfma/movie-1165-insanedwarfmassacre

Normal... champion wrestler goes insane, none of the military is left, kills almost everyone. But wait...

Go to slowmo, and go to 2:02. And watch. The dwarf is there... then kills the cat, then... um, wait?

Watch it again. The dwarf actually disappears completely from the screen, and I find him someplace else a little while later. What? How can dwarves teleport?

Not sure if this is a bug or gameplay discussion. I put it in gameplay discussion because it involves a movie, and lots of death, and something really weird which is probably a bug.

I once modded in a semimegabeast but forgot a few tags so it always spawned with a full light grey wound list.

When I went to go kill one, it didn't move at all, but teleported around the cave every couple minutes.

This was adventure mode, mind you, and its raw speed was in the 600-800 range.

It freaked me out.

But yeah, it looks like your berserk champion went up the stairs, and your GFPS wasn't quite high enough to show him walking up.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Hmmmm.

Possibly, yeah. Ah well. I still like the teleporting dwarf idea more.

Urist Foyle is my name
Okbomrek is my nation.
A cliff face is my dwelling place
and deaths my destination.

Two minutes on Google and I get a cookie. Good deal.

I'm going to have to pick that book up eventually, it looks extremely interesting. Thank you for sending me to it.
