Well, relatively low tech.

Kind of like modern day without computers, early electricity.

Maybe biological entirely, like the zerg.

At the very least, actual details may bary, but that will be the choice of the primary focus, so there might be magica anyway but it is rarely used and rerely useful, so more of a toy than a tool.

A lack of technology would just be low tech.

Both would have extreme hybrids, none would be biological or creature focused(animal power, or mutant overmind, that kind of stuff)

I say you guys go for DCA. Why? Because then you'd start out as naked guys floating in space and die immediately. Or it would force qwerty to come up with something really interesting.

Remember how I mentioned the Zerg from starcraft(without the from starcraft part)?

Yeah.

Although it would be interesting for everyone if I did it that way.

Of course, I'll give you time to discuss if you really want to go as far as DCA... since it might be quite diffrent.

But anyway, I forgot to mention, but it is turn 1, and you can do practically anything. Push the system. You'll respawn if you die, no loss, and lose everything when a situation is decided, but treat it like GMOD until then.

Okay, heres some analysis and speculation:

past and space combined could mean that you are not from that time

magic and space might be crystal spaceships.
tech and space.... well, yeah.
both and space... I don't know, but it would be interesting
none and space would probably mean a biological sace station.

All that is open to discussion.

Basically, figure out an awesome, unique, or otherwise interesting  situation to start in.

If you want, you could even take advantage of your current situation to test the possibilities.

:(

I was really hoping for some example actions to grow the game around.

Remember, here nothing is permenent, you will lose it all in a few turns.

Well, the rules developed will remain.

I may not be in the game, but, suggestions.

The game is divided into night and day. Each day you can vote to lynch a player, who is replaced by the next person on the waiting list, and slotted onto the bottom. If no one is lynched, space weasels attack gear city. That being your hometown, the corrupted twisted mass of iron that is the capital of the Gear empire, which spans seven worlds, and contests with the evil salamander alliance three more, and two others with the communist humanoids anonymous.
Your goal is to seek out and kill threats to Gear city, for indeed, you are the sacred protectors of gear city, the holders of the great can of oil to it's workings. Lynching is thus not actual death, but a temporary rest.
You must defeat threats in the form of space weasels, salamanders, communists, and the standard fare- crime syndicates who refuse to pay tribute to the government, evil sects who sacrifice more than their quota of humans per month, human rights activists, and, um.. Oxygen?
