Graphical Problems
« on: March 06, 2009, 10:22:34 pm »

I hear about this game while I'm on the family computer, so I download and play it.  Everything works well enough, so later I move over to my computer, and everything shows up screwy.

I use a dual monitor setup, and this is what they look like on each, respectively.  I'm using an EZPack_38c version in those images, but other versions, both modded and standard, produce similar results.  I've tried minimizing and maximizing, but that hasn't helped.  Does anyone more familiar with the technical aspects of this game know what the problem could be?

Looks like this: http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=30295.msg405637#msg405637

Try turning off texture compression in your graphics card settings.  Apparently for some cards that means moving the Performance/Quality slider toward Quality.

Alright, I opened up the NVIDIA control panel and moved the slider over to quality, but it had no effect on the game.

EDIT:
Alright, I'm using the GeForce 6800 le graphics card, and after searching and searching, I was unable to find any way to force texture compression off.  I did, however, come across RivaTuner.

After downloading and installing it, I was able to turn off the "force on" option for texture compression, and slide the bar even further towards quality.  The game now runs, and I can actually read what is on the screen.  Thank you for your help in resolving this issue.
