 Crash Bandicoot?
 Yup, they have no credibility.

important and influential
Lets get this straight, Dwarf Fortress is not "Important and Influential". In fact only a few people know about it. This is a list of games that would be chosen by the general, "Oh look a shiny thing" population.
...
Just to set things straight.
...
And I thought Super Mario 64 should be on-top, but hey.
Crash Bandicoot?
 Yup, they have no credibility.
Indeed. I liked that one videogame involving some sort of bear and a chicken and a witch.... what was that called again?
Hey, I was like in elementary school!

Rogue is probably one of the most influential games of all time. It inspired fallout, diablo, and so many more games.

That would be Banjo Kazooie, an actually half-decent platform exploration game. Crash... I didn't like his platforms back then, I don't like them now. He made one good cart game that was an excellent rip-off of Mario Cart(Again, a rather good one) and that was it.

I endorse Halo being somewhere on this list, because it just had a flavor to it no other FPS before it had. Enemies had animations not related to killing you. The controls were not too twitchy nor too tank-like. The enemies had half-decent AI(Take that Half Life). The environments were very open, and even the halls were large and spacious. Sure the story was not terribly original, but the protagonist hit the badass protagonist trope on the head so hard I could ignore the plot. Not that it doesn't have flaws, but much bashing seems to be based around how popular it is.

Halo 2 deserves to be forever barred from this list because it is made up of everything people complain about the Halo franchise about.

is it just for me or something wrong with that page ... at least firefox and ctrl f hadent found any of these on that list:
civilisation
X-com (nor UFO)
Heros of might and magic
but not even Diablo (wich was quite popular in his time and even original ... a bit at least)
and an other funny point there are even 3 GTA on that list ... how much needed them to pay ???

Yeah this is a FUBAR subjective list....but it's impossible to make an objective list in this case, so ah well.  ;)

21. Pro Evolution Soccer 4 PFFFFFFFFFF
48. Saturn Bomberman Unless this was the original, but I doubt it.
35. Advance Wars More of a question of placement, mainly that it is above both Super Metroid and God of War. I have no desire to play God of War, but I know how popular it is.
31. Ico WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING DOWN THERE, AND WHERE IS SOTC?

And while I thought Half Life was crap, I know how much influence it has had in gaming. Counterstrike. Half Life 2. Orange Box. Anything using the Source engine. It really should at least be in the top ten.

Pacman?!? (Or PONG!?!?!) or any of the space craze games (Galactica, etc)

Really, anything pre-NES...

I'd put ET up there, just because of it's epic fail (serving as an example is important and influencial, right?)

Zork?

No examples of the crap that's kicked off the casual and online craze (everquest, wow, bejeweled)

Solitaire and Minesweeper?

(Mohreb it's civiliZation, and not actually on there)
