It's not dead. Next time I see Tahin I'll smack him upside the head and tell him to get back to work.

Its just my college break is closing in and I might have time to do stuff yet again, and I can't find any RP MUD that isn't filled to the brim with furries and overall creepy people, and I've been really looking forward to this project since the day it was announced  :-X

You expect to be less creeped out by people who play Dwarf Fortress than by furries?  Firstly, I'm not sure that the two groups don't overlap enough to make it a moot point. Secondly, this is the forum where nobody blinks an eye when we talk about fountains of blood and feeding children to carp.  Then again, those who are like us tend not to seem creepy, so you may have no problems.

What? I'm okay with canibalism, crazy man eating fish, gouging children eyes out, licking severed limbs, getting mauled by several different species, the RGN, hell, even tentacle clowns are okay. Frakk, i'm even gay IRL. And Liberal.

This, however, is not okay.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Once the next release is out, I'm going to play an elven adventurer and start a personal campaign against all animal people, even if I have to wage war with the elves themselves for it.

All right, all right. I have the crafting system slightly started. Just gotta figure out a decent method of storing item templates and I'll be able to get everything up to alpha-level pretty easily.

Not to derail the topic, but i just need to state to Dakk that;

You realise not all furries go around in fursuits? It's the same as thinking all gays go around in drag.

Its not the fursuit stuff that creeps me out (at least not mainly), but its the creepy art all around. There isn't an art community OL that hasn't been stained with furries's creepy sense of "art". Sure, there's other creepy stuff out there, but you won't see people who enjoy tentacle rape crying around pretending to be a social movement to gather attention.
EDIT: That, and the fact they take the whole online fandom thing waaaaaay too seriously. A fiend o' mine knows a girl who's a declared furry, so she was all liek omg u guys shud be furry 2!, and I was all ewwww no, I'm not a fan of animal-people sex. To this day she treats me like I'm the anti-christ, even though everyone in that conversation knew I was joking.
Also, the DF forum is by far the most sane place I've frequented on the internet.
Also, holyshitepic, its not dead!

Are you implying that we are dangerously sane?  Because this forum is decidedly not normal sane.

...the DF forum is by far the most sane place I've frequented on the internet.

So the topics about the most effeciant way to kill babies and the use of sapient creatures as an energy source (or just as a source of bones from their children...) and other similar topics seem sane to you?

It disturbes me a bit that they no longer bother me morally... this really is a wonderful place :)

On the Wall is a Masterfully engraved carving of Urist McHardcastle and Goblins. Urist McHardcastle is surrounded by the Goblins. The Golbins are stamping on Urist McHardcastle. Urist McHardcaste is laughing at the Goblins. The carving related to the prolonged and bloody death of Urist McHardcastle in the Fall of 1659, the Winter of 1659, and the Spring of 1660. On the engraving is an image of Cheese.

What, when I first read A Modest Proposal
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I thought it was amusing and just a little bit disturbing. Its easy to lose your sense of moral when you're on the internet and you know how to use it.

As much as I love the topic, I'll have to refrain from moar posting on this, I really don't want to derail this thread.

And aye, I was already pretty darn fucked up before I came here.
