I dont know how this thought came into my mind, but it did. I personally think I wouldn't for any of my friends, but for family members sure. How about you guys, listing your reasons would be cool as well.

That's tough man.  Reminds me this question I saw on some personality test or something, asked if you had to kill yourself or 10 people, what would it be?  I know that 10 people leaving would be more worth it, but to actually kill yourself?  I'm pretty scarred to die, so I don't know if I could do it.

However, I fight for my friends.

I probably wouldn't, unless there was an especially important reason.

Yes. Especially if it were more of a 'risk life with certinty of death' type thing. Otherwise, I might try to find a third solution.

I don't know.  I'm a pretty loyal person and I'd certainly take risks for my friends.  I think I could even find it within me to gamble my life to protect them.  But to accept death is a very unusual decision in the human mind, no matter what the reasons.  It would depend on the friend in question to a degree.  It's not really the extent of loyalty I feal, my mind place more value in some people then others.  I can't answer this question in the purely hypothetical.  In fact I don't think I can honestly know, unless you are suggesting we experiment to find out.

My closest friends?  Well, I have a good friend, Evan, who works in personal security.  Right now, it's his turn to man the office 24/7, so he's bunking down at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, D.C.

Alex, or, "Big Al" as we call him is very dear to me.  He's kinda outdoorsy and doesn't have a real permenant address.  But just ask around for him in Bridgeport, California, there's not too many people there.  Hurry though.  His boss is sending him on a "top secret" mission sorta thing real soon to "an undisclosed location."

Oooh, or there's Tania.  She's on a bit of a spiritual journey of sorts.  So she does a lot of traveling, what she calls "learning from the masters."  She comes back Stateside a lot though, when ever she says she needs to "hunt evil where ever it may reside."  Don't bother trying to find her.  She finds you.

Antony would probably be the easiest to find though.  We're trying to get a new place and become room mates.  But right now, he's living here.

I would sacrifice myself for a friend, but only as a greedy option. I'd rather die and let my friend experience the mental trauma than experience it myself.
