Walledwar before the fall
« on: March 04, 2009, 03:51:33 pm »

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share my big 302 dwarf mountainhome before I open the HFS and knock down this big sand castle. Every fortress must come to an end, and this is my favorite one I've ever built so I wanted someone else to see it. Enjoy!

Thank you for sharing. That river may be quite simply the best use of a feature, to ever exist. It's so elegant and fits in perfectly with the fortress.

Toady Two had been ecstatic lately, he admired a masterfully designed fortress recently.

Your fortress has given me a lot of interesting ideas for my next fortress. Particularly the cave river. Nice work.

Coolest river ever.

Also, I like how the fort turned out.  You made pretty good use of some of the terrain.  Krata likey.

I love the king's room and the cave river, but I especially like your great hall. I think i'm going to attempt to emulate it, although mine will be under water and will have heating pillars instead of mist towers.

Very, very nice fort. It's easy to tell you put a lot of thought and work into it, and it turned out great.

side note, 302 dwarves? you must have an insanely good cpu or infinitely more patience then me.

LrZeph has been Depressed Recently,
He saw a fort infinitely better than his. He attempted to beat Aforementioned fort. Fire happened.

Just wanted to put that in there, very nice job on Dwarven Landscaping.

That is truly beautiful. Could you upload a save so I can investigate it fully? Maps just don't do it justice.

It's strange, considering how awesome your fort is, all your dwarves have a perpetually sad expression  ;D

I have to add: the bench at the base of the waterfall in front of the mausoleum is a nice touch. Also, I can't make head nor tail of the cave river system, it's too much genius engineering for my feeble mind. Maybe a few more POI's to help me out?

Holy freaking crap

I wish I could do something like this, but I have a wierd OCD with 90 degree angles and symmetry that doesn't let me do things like your river  :'(
