By the way, this thread is not for bug reports; you can post them if you like, but I won't be answering. I'm pretty sure we've been over all of those already, anyhow.. waiting for 40d10, as usual.

I use 40d9 vanilla. Well technically I use a custom tileset with it but not a whole graphics pack.

I really want to use a graphics pack but I find it so much harder to tell the dwarves apart then just by the colours.

I use 40d with Mayday's graphics set.  I've tried 40d9, but the speed increase it provides is minimal on my machine, and I like the 40d set's looks better, plus 3Dwarf doesn't work with 40d9.

I have 2 computers.  One which I mostly game on(except for DF) and it saw an improvement from 40d9.  My other computer, which has a much faster processor but built in Intel video saw, at best, a performance decrease from using 40d9 and for worst case completely broke the graphics.  So I just use 40d.

For the record, I do not think it is the problem of 40d9 but that of Intel's video and its drives, which are kind of screwy and oddly implemented.  Intel is still stuck in the mindset of "software rendering" and almost all of their "hardware graphics" effort is geared more or less in that direction.

I use 40d9, no graphical sets. Its about 30 fps quicker for me than 40d

40d9 here...even tho I don't really notice any FPS improvements compared to 40d to be honest, but my system is quite good, so maybe that's why.

have you tried rantingrodent's? they're very distinct. cooks have little chef hats on, planters have pitchforks, nobles have individual graphics, etc. and this is coming from soemoen who has to run it at a dismally small resolution so i can barely see the graphics

I haven't and will go download it now and see if it's what I need cheers

For some reason 40d9 doesn't work on my PC (It did for a while, then when I tried starting it up it didn't do anything but make a phantom proccess I can shut down wtih ctrl alt del.) so I'm forced to use 40d0

I tried it, but gave up because my computer can generally run the game faster than I need it to anyway. I like small maps, and I missed having the orange DF icon for my shortcut.
