Thats (kindof) in the deleted scenes... In that it happens (offscreen) and the characters talk about it.  Which is pretty much how it happened in the books.

Yep correct, this is why I've bought the extendend special editions.  :)

I really enjoyed the books and found the descriptions interesting, sometimes historical references got to me a little but never ruined the story. I can understand the complaints people are making though, I just don't like to dwell on them ;).

I also enjoyed the films, some of the differences were a little annoying however, the ending in the sire has already been mentioned. The second film is the one that deviated most from the books and from my point of view slightly detrimentally, one thing I really didn't like is what they did to Faramir and even Denethor but then it worked on screen so I shouldn't complain as they were pretty epic.

Hey, is it just me, or Moria > Mordor?

I mean, seriously, Moria had a spirit of fire type demon and some damn cool orc armor. Mordor? A tower with an eye made of fire on it and some fat, ugly, dumpy orcs.

I agree...the Moria scenes in part I. were absolutely epic....especially the Balrog scene, that is my favourite.  8)

Its one of the few problems I had with the story. Sauron never does anything save sit on top of his tower and order his minions. The Nazgul although badass, aren't enough to make up for it. Pretty sure they couldn't stand up to an ancient spirit of flames and/or pure evil.

Do you mean his spirit? As he is "dead".

Isengard was pretty good. Except for that ENT PROBLEM!

I still think the "The Hobbits are going to Isengard" music video is pretty catchy.

The Battle of Helm's Deep was also epic.  8)

We're going to take our army and march to Sauron's castle, and then we're going to beat on him until he cries like a little girl!
