Censorship
« on: May 06, 2002, 05:01:00 pm »

I just heard on the news that congressmen in Georgia along with others are trying to make selling or renting violent video games to minors a federal crime.  This would be punishable by a $1000 fine and $5000 for a second offense.

I would tell you to vote Democrat but I don't think it'll make any difference.  Hell, half you guys aren't even US citizens!

Did you know that in Sweden a couple of years ago, games on comps or consoles were almost banned, all games!!! But luckily the children of the leaders were whining to much so that they didnīt ban the games  :D

Well, obviously all video games should be banned. It's obvious that seeing violent imagery on a screen shatters a child's sense of morality turning them into crazed killers. I can't think of any other influence that has the same potency, because obviously the way a child's parents raise them has no bearing on.. ack.. *glurk*... choking on sarcasm... *dies*

Given Harlander's tragic and untimely demise, I think we should broaden our scope.  Sarcasm is now officially banned on this board.

It's not just Georgia now.  The next state is California???  I might actually have to worry about this one:

The results of the CNN poll were 70% to 30% against penalties.  My faith in the people of America has been restored- maybe democracy isn't so bad after all.
