@Winter

Whats the best way for them to earn XP? I know they'll be getting newbie points for a while (and ALL should go into intelligence until it is "perfect:) but after they stop getting those I only know about performing shows and taking pictures.

Hanging out in public places is a good idea as well - sometimes, you'll hear someone recite a haiku, which more or less guarantees an extra XP.

You also get an XP if you've successfully composed a song recently, as well - however, you work best from home.

Flying home to New York to get a professorship. Will be there in a matter of hours, as I'm taking a supersonic.

Also if any one is interested in having a "job" for a weekly salary let me know. One of my friends who runs a few businesses said they would hire anyone who needed / wanted some extra money. You won't actually have to do any thing, just being hired and filling the open spot helps her and you get paid for it. There is the random chance of getting a bad work update and losing a little bit of happiness due to upset customers or various other things however (but it's nothing to worry about).

Again if interested just lemme know and we'll work on getting you a good paying job.

Gah... this is kinda annoying...
How the heck do I get money?
The 'tutorial' tells me to jam, but to jam costs money. I have no money...
you'd think the tutorial would teach you to get money...

@Goron

By Jam it probably means "Busk" which you can choose by going to your priorities menu.

As for finding people look in the top right corner for the magnifying glass, you can search for people through there if you know their name.

Once you have interacted with some one you can get to them through the relationship page.

Alternatively can you access some one's character page through your message inbox once you have contacted them.

I'll fly to NYC in another day or two and start up a relationship with you as well as get those of you in the area some skill books (and possibly work on getting you hired into a job).

If it all seems a little much just bare with it, you'll have it all down soon enough and be touring the world in no time :)

I've been severely lacking in pointless-waste-of-time browser games, so I'm giving this a go.  Honestly, though, I'm a little disappointed that Chicago isn't a city I can call home - very disappointed.

Each city has at least one Free Jam that's owned by the city - it's just that the game doesn't show you locations at lesser quality than Nice when you're viewing the city amenities. So, go to the City page, and then look for an option that says something along the lines of 'show all locations'.

You /should/ be able to locate a Free Jam in Jamming Locations after that.

So, well, I'm starting my second song, "Urist Bends Pine". I was amused that my first song ("When the treequota is cut!") appeared to be "bad", which is better than terrible and lower levels which usually follow the first songs :).

And that's in the game where you're not allowed to have multiple characters ;).

Eh, no, I've been playing the game for well over a few years, including the fallow time where you wait for the guy to commit suicide. I have yet to experience any thrill from Popmundo. It's just pointless grinding WITHOUT the thrill. It has the same dull feel as Hattrick or Urban Dead, just a lot of powergaming, a lot of patience, and it's fricking boring if you don't have a good friend to enjoy it with.

VIP might be a little more fun though. The VIPs do get a lot of features. Including people talking to them. My character's girlfriend dumped him for a VIP :(

Ah... thanks for the tips and words of encouragement.
When I am #1 I will not forget you, perhaps I'll even met you be my groupie ;)
And over night it seems I got a paycheck from my job- I didn't expect the money until a 'normal' pay period (everything else is kind of realistically timed). So I woke up today with like 70 bucks thanks to my job as a 16 year old subway driver.

Then I went and spent ~50 of it scheduling the cheapest available jam session I could find... only to now read that I may have been able to get a free one:

:-\ oh well...

ALso, I notice sometimes when I log in my dude is not where I left him... Why?
Like, sometimes I'll be in a nursery or at a park or something...

Next question, will my little man go to a jam session himself? or do I need to take him there? and if I need to take him there, how do I keep him there?

@Goron

Your character is wandering around due to being bored. I suggest talking to random people at what ever location you are in as that should stop your guy from walking around town for the most part.

My guy does it too every once in a while.

And really, don't worry about jamming until you are getting ready to do some shows. I'm not sure what you're even jamming any ways. Jam sessions just train your songs up to 100% status so they don't sound like crap on stage, you'll never make money from jamming.

But mom really wants me to

Oh well... I won't jam again for a while then.

What should I be doing then?
