Pssh, a lot of these so called 'random' fortress names are anything but. Every fortress name I've randomly generated has only been an adjoining of two words, like Pleasantlabors, or Towerrape, or something else like that. Anybody who found a 'random' fortress name of Blankblank the Blankety Blank-Blank of Blank is full of blank.

Well, technically my fortress was only Spreadbuttocks.  "The Embrace of Prison" was my civilization's name.

Unfortunately that fortress' promising career was cut short when I did something stupid.

There was this big stone hill in the middle of my map, and I wanted to have a big ramp leading up the hill, and at the top would be a small keep with stairs that led into the fortress proper.  I dug a big rectangle out of the bottom floor of the hill and added ramps to the end of the rectangle to lead up to the second floor, where I would repeat the process.

Unfortunately, I had forgotten that when you dig out the side of a mountain, it leaves the ground of the floor above it.  When I dug the ramps out, I flattened my miners.

I almost always just hit random until I find something I like. My current fort is called "Hatchetblade", which suits its overall personality well.

Then there was "Whipcandles", where I named all my starting dwarves after Castlevania characters...

Cosmostower is a badass name. Just think about it. You could build massive towers, and it would be some of the most appropriate name ever.

And who doesn't like giant towers?

Last night I was hitting the old 'r' for randomize on a new startup, and I got "Starcraft". No kidding. Heh.

Pssh. All I get is Helpbust and Scrapedmerchants.

Funny thing is, I haven't had any traders arrive at Scrapedmerchants, and the dwarves from the mountainhome came once and haven't shown up since.

My last fort ,Treatygourged, settled in by The friends of merchants ( all random) didn't get much traders and when they actually do come  an adamantine collosus thief ( didn't intend them to do that) came and counterstriked everyone to death ( have an awesome video) sure the merchant guard help blind it but I got tired of watching them dodge in same spot over and over.... as they gained skills( the guard became a spearmaster while the collosus got more skills, which I gave him the power to learn). Didn't get enough immagrants to start an army.
