Hey, I'd suggest that you add this link. It is probably the most comprehensive and accessible explanation for fluid dynamics. (I've been trying to cram it down everyone's throats lately, because I figure that the less forts lost to flooding Fun, the more elves and assorted other acceptable targets that will experience Fun in a terminal sense.)

I haven't heard of Wathathafatha and it doesn't come up anywhere else I checked on a forum search -- putting it up or even including it with Urist before some of the others seems strange, although it makes sense that such a thing wouldn't appear on the forum during the time in question.

It seems like most people want it stickied, being that I've received several PMs on the subject in the past..

I did a bit of reorganization on the OP, bumping the General stuff up to the top because it's important, added the two tutorial links..

I've never heard of Wathathafatha either.  No offense, but it appears that link was included for purely personal reasons.  It's also not polite to hide offsite links with tinyurl -- people like to know what domain they're clicking into.

The development links can probably be condensed into a single link to dev.html.

The mentions of fluids and Adv. Mode chasm repopulation are a little random.

I don't think "There's no excuse for improper spelling" and other spelling police stuff belongs in a stickied thread, where people might confuse it for a rule.  We get many people here who contribute usefully despite not knowing much English (sometimes not even enough to use a spellchecker), and I don't want to discourage them.

Overall I wouldn't be in favor of stickying this, even with the above revisions, for these reasons:
1. Its purpose feels more preventative than informative.  Tone is frantic and borderline adversarial.
2. New members don't bother to read the stickies that look boring.  This is true of all forums.
3. Few people ever go looking for a general list of links.  "Links for DF Beginners" might work better, but half of these links are more like "Links for Forum Beginners."  "Look Here First" for what?
