Does anybody actually talk about Wathathafatha? Other than that, great list. Although I still reserve my statements that the search feature is somewhat weak.

I've still seen it mentioned in a few places, yes.  Better to have the link there then get any real number of topics/PMs on it like with Urist, isn't it?

I've never had any problems with it...
All a matter of getting your keywords right.

Searching for "Cat Nuclear Population Explosion" is not going to get you as many results as "Cat Population Growth"

EDIT: Point that was here was proven incorrect elsewhere.
EDIT2: And the question I posed here is now moot.  Go me.

I suppose I base this upon some thread I wanted to search up that I visited that the search was useless with. Something about something was a common word in pretty much every thread. For example, try finding the Dwarf Fortress MUSH thread.
Also, Urist is everywhere. Wathathafatha appears in what... five threads? It is a good name, but we do-
Wait a second, why the hell am I debating this? There is no reason to debate this. It won't benefit anybody to have it removed. Screw it, no more about Wathathafatha.

Again, good link list. Now if only Toady could come here and sticky/use these links in a help sticky.

Not like most internet newbies read threads, anyway. Then again, we usually get fairly intelligent people.

try finding the Dwarf Fortress MUSH thread.
Bad example. (Or good?  Let me explain this one..)

It's actually a MU*.
You'll probably not find it searching for MUSH, because the only time the term MUSH is used in the topic is the URL.
Double-edged blade, though:
An asterisk (*) is the generic wildcard for a vast majority of search engines.
In all seriousness, I did find it with one search...
It was only 34% relevance when searching for "Dwarf Fortress MU*", without the quotation marks, but it was still the first page of search results, which is pretty good when you think about it given the whole wildcard thing + 2/3 keywords being so very very common...

Oh. The quotation thing for specifying specific things didn't work for me, so I assumed the asterisk thing wouldn't either.

For those zany souls that use Internet Explorer or Chinese derivatives thereof, there's always ieSpell.

Now if I could just remember to use it more often...

I have it in my member title just to mess with people who weren't there. Jay, you are undermining my efforts to cause confusion.

the wiki has become out of date
Then people need to update it.
That's entirely the POINT of a wiki in the first place.

Does anybody have anything for me to add to this?

I recommend putting the links into categories for easier reading.
