Great 3x4 location: Magma, cave river, HFS, pit, trees, sand
« on: February 28, 2009, 09:13:57 am »

I have found a great 3x4 embark area on a volcano. It's only missing flux, but there is so much obsidian you can buy as much steel as you want. There's lots of cliffs, and it's in a tropical biome. There's some interesting wildlife too (lions ...).

I don't know how to attach a screenshot, or the world. Let me know, and I'll upload it.

http://dffd.wimbli.com/index.php- for uploading the map.
www.tinypic.com for image hosting.

You can also post the parameters for generating the world, as I use a few mods.

If you can, go into Legends mode for that world and post the "seed"s, and then give a screenshot of the locale. That would let people with any mod run it.

The worldgen are below, if you want to re-generate the world. There's lots of rejects, accept them all (p) when you get the warning message.

A small correction: the lions are on a 4x4 embark (includes tropical shrubland). On a 3x4, you get a tropical forest, which has lots of exotic wildlife as well. Most of it non-predatory, though...

Yeah, really need the SEED info to gen it.
Also, is that a less-than-appropriate background that screenshot is covering up?  ;)

So there's that, as well. It looks like the only chronic problems that water can't cure are nausea and cave spider bites.
Which, coincidentally enough, can be cured by magma.

It's supposed to come with the rest of the parameters; I only just now noticed that they are missing.  This would explain why I couldn't find this site.  Don't know why they aren't already there, though.

You need to export your map. Since you've probably already embarked, you will need to go 'Esc -> Export Images' or something. Pick just one layer to export. You will get a bmp (or several) in your game folder, along with a couple region# txt files. One of the txt files will contain the world gen info.

If you haven't embarked yet, go into legends mode and export map info and image from there (p?) which will give you one large image of the world + 3 text files. History, something else and the world gen info+seed.
