Artifacts

This must've been asked many times, what's the exact use of the artifact itself. I mean the item if it's, say, a maple scepter?

Nothing.
But I am not sure if you place it in a room if it brings the value up, I would assume it would. So give it to your favorite dwarf.

You can still use artifact as object. If it is a barrel, it will serve as a barrel. It gives good thoughts to dwarves. Artifact furniture will pump up quality of rooms to sky-high values. And artifact weapons have crazy damage modifier.

Craft artifact are pretty much useless, just keep them deep inside your fort so a thief doesnt steal it.

Plus there is a chance that your worthless gem "master" will became a threat to any dwarf nearby.

This is often "funnier" then kobold raiding party.

Only for the near-useless gem workers.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

Isn't that gem worker a legendary wrestler by any chance ?  ;D
