"Alright, Rick. Grab the copper shield. I'd rather leave the injured one to die or recover, though. There's always a chance for him to live, and life is the most precious gift that-"

"Wait, why am I saying this stuff? Oh well."

[Squeegy]

Sudden Event
You can hear a horse trotting along the road up ahead.

[inaluct]

"Crap, everybody get into the bushes. Whoever feels up to it, drag the lead thief in too," Captain Inaluct says as he grabs the Steel Halberd and sneaks off into the bushes to hide.

[R1ck]

I drag the head thief into the bushes, and try to clean up the blood a bit.

[Squeegy]

Bushes
Everyone dives into the bushes. Up ahead, the horse stops, and you can hear someone dismount.

Captain Inaluct tries to get a glimpse of the person who just dismounted from the horse. He tries to stay totally hidden.

I quietly attempt to sneak through the bushes to behind the person. I then ready my bow.

[Squeegy]

Road
You part the bushes slightly and see a man kneeling by the body of a thief.

Captain Inaluct moves near the edges of the bushes and stands.

"Hail, brave knight! I am Captain Inalucteh of The Earl's Finest, an infantry division of Earl Thompson's army. Me and my men require assistance to travel to the Earl's castle. You look to be a valiant and honorable man; would you assist us?"

((I know that this is risky. That's why I'm prepared to dive back into the forest if he seems hostile.))

[R1ck]

Is the thief he's looking at one of the ones we just encountered?

If I'm in position, I prepare an arrow, and fire if the knight attacks the captain.

[Squeegy]

The knight stands up and puts his hand on his weapon. "Impossible. The Earl's forces were scattered and decimated." He points at the thief with his other hand. "Did you do this?"

[inaluct]

"The man you see dead on the road is a member of a bandit group that viciously attacked us. Our forces were decimated in an earlier battle. Me and my handful of men are all that remain of the Earl's forces. These bandits tried to attack us when we were weak. Again I implore you; please aid us in returning to Earl Thompson's castle. One of my men is gravely injured, and we bear important news for the Earl. If you are a knight of his, however, I suspect he may already know of it."

[Squeegy]

The knight relaxes his grip on his weapon. "Come with me." He walks over to his horse and mounts it, then looks back at you expectantly.

[inaluct]

As Captain Inaluct steps out of the bushes, he says, "My men are tired and wounded; forgive my hesitation. I still must know; are you a knight of the Earl's?"

[R1ck]

I pick some medical herbs and come out of the bushes, pretending that was the reason I was in there.
