Why am I so ineffective? Last battle, I did a total of 2 damage. This battle? 0 damage. And I took 20 damage. And way back before I ran out of all five of my wooden arrows, I usually missed or did a small amount of damage.

What are the rules for unarmed combat like?

Protip - Unarmed Combat
Unarmed combat is fairly simple. If you're on a horse, you trample your enemy for 2 hits. Unless they are also on a horse, of course. In which case you default to haphazard punching. Punching is a low-power attack but beneficial in that if you roll a foot/leg hit you disregard it (unless you were aiming). It cannot cause bleeding and can only do up to 10 damage, max.

What about highly unusual exotic weapons? Like, let's say that I kill a bear and find a way to incorporate it's skull and jaws into a very macabre helmet that's front menaces with spikes of teeth; can I grab people and headbutt them into blood-soaked submission?

I attempt to bandage my injuries. One of you should decapitate some of our deceased enemies. We can throw their heads.

Throw their heads at what? You'd probably be better off picking up some more armour.

Inaluct grabs all the armor he needs and swaps his wooden breastplate for a leather one. Rick and Inaluct are now the most well-armed people in the party, in way of quantity. For quality, Cheeetar is the best armored. Cheeetar and Newmar are the best armed.

Woo! Quantity! Anyways, I guess a couple of heads could come in handy later, so I use my steel short sword to acquire a few.

I was about to say. Did you know that celtic warriors or something, used to throw the severed and preserved heads of their enemies at their enemy mid charge? Scared the hell out of people and broke morale just before both side met.

So you're basically throwing frozen chickens (weight wise) at people , yelling like a lunatic and generally demoralizing them before chopping them up with some iron age weaponry.
