I would like to add a specialisation in my steel short sword.

Protip - Experience
Every enemy you face in a fight gives you 10 EXP. Five enemies yield 50. This is divided evenly among everyone in the group who was fighting (except NPCs). So, with five people fighting and five enemies, everyone gets 10 EXP at the end of the fight. People knocked unconscious or killed do not get EXP.

Every level your health is raised and you are allowed to take a skill. You can improve on your old skills or add a new one. Every level in a skill (up to 9) raises its effectiveness.

Huh. I guess I have fucking insane horse riding skills, to the point of being able to hit someone in the foot with a scimitar from horseback. Unfortunately, I am also ineffective.

I grab a steel longsword and some unclaimed armor (will I get a reduced bonus for using the sword, even though it isn't a scimitar? It's extremely similar).

"I am unsure of our distance from the castle. You'll have to ask our chivalrous friend."

Captain Inaluct looks back and forth.

"Hey, speaking of chivalry, how about we decapitate these guys? The ones that aren't already decapitated?"

Yes, I am aware that I am about to batter the shit out of a really nice sword to make it slightly curved.

As Inaluct batters his sword, it breaks in two. As well, it appears the bandit's clothing had plate mail sown in and cannot be used for bandages.

The knight says, "We have a day or two of riding. We had better start."

As Captain Inaluct rides, he talks incessantly. "When we get to the castle, we walk into Earl Thompson's throne room dramatically. I'll address him, explain what's going on, and say how the knight helped us. What do you guys think? Do we need something more specific? We could hand him the severed heads of some enemy soldiers."
