That sounds awesome to me, you're right.

I've pretty much taken over our little dorm fridge for brewing and lagering purposes. Infact, seeing as how I've got the day off, I think I'll taste-test my latest brew (an Octoberfest cream ale) right now!

Just wanted to pop in and voice my support for this thread :D  I've been homebrewing for about a year now and it is an awesome hobby.  Very addicting though, and easy to get carried away with... *glances into his closet that currently houses 500 bottles*

If anyone has questions I'd be happy to answer them!

SirHoneyBadger: Last summer I built a little contraption to keep my 5 gallon fermenter cool... really basic, just two rubbermaid cartons stacked on top of eachother with a little electric fan inside to circulate air.  I stuck two frozen milk jugs in there and even though my apartment was 80+, it kept my fermenter ~70.  Not bad for spending less than $20!

My grandad was a methodist, and as such wasn't allowed to drink alcohol until the 90's or something.
My dad bought me a bottle of Hobgoblin recently, and I think it lives up to the claim that it's a legendary ruby ale.

sorry to bump this up but does anyone know a decent home beer kit for the uk? I've recently started making my own wine and I enjoyed it so much that I want to branch out into beer, however I'm struggleing to find a decent quality starter kit.
Any idea's?

What's all this talk about kits?  Read an actual article on brewing and it should have a list of things you need, and things that make it easier.  If that's too hard, go to a homebrew store in your area and talk to the guy there.

I'm back too, and my lovely wife even bought me a set of beer refills for Christmas.

My dad and I are going to try some vodka this year. Is there a liquor made from corn that we could try? Got too much o' that damned food around here.
