I had an Olivine sceptre with an image of itself engraved on it. I'm not even sure how that works... fractal engraving?

The lines of the cut form a 3D image of itself on itself.

One of my peasents made a dog bone crossbow.....in a craftsdwarfs workshop.

My two favorite artifacts are:
Boltdepressed the Bearded Alchemies, an adamantine mace
and
Thintree the Wines of Trickery, an adamantine sword

Hi!

Shad0wyone: That large gem of yours has me worried a bit. Currently, my fortress is too small to get artifacts, it seems, but I do a lot of decorating trade goods. On one of the items, one of my craftdwarves made four or five images besides the obligatory menacing spikes. All of these images were of 'large gems'. I dread the moment that dwarf gets a mood (I consider large gems to be about as useless as an artifact can get).

Mazeangel the Hide of Tweeting, a turtle bone cabinet.

Encrusted with limestone, decorated with turtle bone and encircled with bands of dog leather. menaces with spikes of steel and rhyolite. on the item is an image of a Alder in Rubicelle. on the item is an image of a fly in iron.

weirdest combo of materials, name, and images i've gotten yet.

Sounds like some sort of cheesy late '80s superhero.

Not Strange exactly. But i had a Cabinet that was made of charcoal.
and it had a very fine image of Dwarves TAUNTING elves in soap.

(oh dear, it makes it sound like the elves are encased in soap).

I've got my second artifact bed right after the first artifact bed was produced. I hope this won't be the new fortress' fashion...

Besides, I once had a fortress obsessed with a artifact gemstone amulet. The gemcutter produced tons of gem amulets afterwards, and every second engraving was about that amulet.

I once had a turtle shell aqua axe (it's from a mod).  Kind of appropriate.

I'd like to reference Moogie's..  mask.

Can't for the life of me remember what its description was.
Wish I could.

I just got Guardpregnant, a platinum barrel. It menaces with spikes of fricken pig tail. It's full of dwarven wine now, so at least it's remotely useful.

Once it's empty, you should use it to make one of the workshops that requires a barrel for construction.  That way, its value is counted towards wealth twice.

Just got this earlier tonight: Inash Lesast, "The Organ of Flanking", a Alunite mechanisms

This is a Alunite mechanisms. All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. It is encrusted with Alunite. On the item is an image of rope reeds in Alunite. On the item is an image of large roaches in Obsidian.

Yeah... I live in a pretty boring fortress.
