And thus, in a new town, Jon traveled to and entered the store.
I travel to the store, talking to passerbys, inquiring where Cousin Vick might be.
Both Jon and Cheeetar walk to the store, with Cheeetar going out of his way to talk to a peasant, not unlike himself, about the whereabouts of Duke Cody's cousin Vick.
"Vick? Oh, you mean Baron Vick! He went to the Motel, passed out drunk on the Road, and is now sleeping it off."
Jon and Cheeetar enter the store.
There are two shelves, the top with two pairs of leather shoes, a wicker basket full of assorted fruits and vegetables, and a +2 Iron Sword. The bottom shelf has only two items, a very shiny polished silver mirror, and a glass bottle with "love potion" written on the side of it. The shopkeeper greets you amiably.
"Can I help you gentleman? My name is Fred the shopkeeper."
You two wonder what to do next.
I go to church and I do all the things I did previously, like asking important questions about the god, learning prayers, learn what his domains are, take brochures etc.
Rooster, being the religious type that he is, immediately heads over to the Church of Vegas to find new gods to worship.
You step on to the plush purple rug, and adore how bright and colorful it is inside. The walls are light red with hand painted pictures of gold coins, dice, and an attractive woman. A man in a long blue gown talks to you,
"Welcome to the Church of Vegas commoner! Are you feeling lucky?"
You ask him about Vegas,
"Why, Vegas is the god of gambling! Vegas is the only God that doesn't have worshippers, only customers!"
You ask him about any prayers he knows,
"Why yes, Vegas is very generous, but only to those willing to take a risk! As you can clearly see, I have crafted a number of green wooden coins on this table. By taking one of these coins, you're allowed to make a deal with Vegas anytime you want. Place any amount of money and/or any item on the ground, then openly declare that you're making a bet with Vegas, then flip the the green betting coin, and if it's heads, you win and Vegas will place exact duplicates of the things you wagered at your feet. If it's tails, however, then the things you wagered will disappear forever."
You go over to the dark purple table and take a green betting coin and place it into your inventory. The Priest speaks again,
"While Vegas is very generous, he does have rules, three in fact. One, you can't bet things you don't own. Two, you can't bet living things. And three, you can't ever ever EVER cheat Vegas. That's all you need to know, my name is Percy, I wish you great luck in the future!"
You stand there, wondering what to do.
