Drink lots and lots of ice water. Keep yourself hydrated, that'll help a lot. No offense to Aqizzar, but I'd skip the pasta unless you're actually doing a lot of exercise. Some carbs are ok, but massive amounts of sugar/starches will just drain your brain unless you're burning them off quickly.
Foodwise, I'd go with peanut butter, meat, beans, stuff with lots of protean in it. Eggs are good too, as is oatmeal.
Vitamins are important, too. I'd take a multi, a B complex, and maybe some vitamin C. B vitamins help your body convert food into energy, and the C will keep your immune system going.
I also take a dose of blackstrap molasses, when I need to stay awake. Like a shotglass worth. It's sugar, but it's complex sugar, and it's loaded with vitamins.
Fresh air is good, but in small doses. Too much oxygen can put you to sleep. Same thing with exercise: Some is good, at regular increments is good, a lot will make you tired. Bright lights are also good, and exciting music doesn't hurt, either.
If nothing else works, slap yourself in the face a few times, hard, and then jump into an ice-cold shower.
I also wouldn't recommend taking more caffiene than you actually need to stay awake and alert. You can always take more later, but if you can spread it out, it'll be easier on you in the long run, and keep you alert-as opposed to twitchy-for a longer period of time.
As far as energy drinks go, it's great to have one around as a back-up, but I like to save them for emergencies, since they tend to have tons of caffiene and sugar in them, which'll make ya burn out quicker, in the long run.
Oh and I'm not a doctor, so don't consider any of this to be medical advice (or necessarily good advice, for that matter). It's just what works best for me, personally.
