I remember that Mantis Shrimp. It was on one of the "Most Extreme" episodes on Animal Planet. Still awesome.

Let's face it. This thread should be renamed to "Mantis Shrimp appreciation thread".

The Binturong (Arctictis binturong), also known as the Asian Bearcat, the Palawan Bearcat, or simply the Bearcat, is a species of the family Viverridae, which includes the civets and genets. It is neither a bear nor a cat, and the real meaning of the original name is lost, as the local language that gave it is extinct.
The scent of Binturong musk is often compared to that of warm popcorn.
Note:
The Binturong packs a defensive spray capable of sending humans into anaphylactic shock.

Those are adorable!
I want one!
Or a skunk, those make good pets if trained properly. (And with the smell gland taken out)

Whoever gave it the name "Bearcat" was spot on.

If there's one thing nature can do, it could just stop with the fucking parasites.

I cannot stand things like that.

Dunno why.

You probably don't like them because they're parasites.

Yes, enough with the parasites.

Not enough of shape-changing creatures. Let's take this for example. I'm surprised it isn't here already, because it's pretty much the most amazing nature thing ever.

And no, it isn't fake.

EDIT: Also, this See Bromor Neckbeards post on 'Approaching foreign ideas', it's quite amazing. I noticed it right after posting this one.

I saw that before LASD, absolutely astounding what some creatures can do.

Is that the little bastard parasite that crawls in a fish's mouth and attaches to the back of its throat and eats most of the fish's tongue?

Squids and octopi are truely awesome. Like those ones that glow in the dark, i think they do it by pumping their blood through their skin rapidly so it looks like they're glowing or something.
