Urggh, The game hasn't started yet, I want to make sure everybody is happy with their classes.
Anyway to answer the questions:
Questions on immobilization because I'm going for it:
1. The whip can only immobilize and then kill, but is that only on attack or also on defense? If a whip-dwarf defends and wins, does the other guy die, or is he immobilized the next turn?
The whip can only immobilize on defense if he wins. The attacker will not be able to move next turn.
2. Do immobilized characters get penalties for defense?
Currently no, but I think I will add a -1 penalty.
3. Does a lost attack roll against an immobilized character mean that he somehow managed to kill his defender while immobilized? It could mean that the attacker is instead immobilized for the next turn, tangled up in his own whip/tripped over his weapon
An immobilized player can is still able to move his arms about and defend from attackers. He is just in a state of confusion/exhaustion. If an attacker attacks an immobilized player and loses, he will die.
4. I'd also like to see that non-rogues can pass the square of a non-allied, immobilized character, as he should be unable to block their passage.
Nice Idea, Done.
Adding on to Siquo:
1. What happens when a Marksdwarf throws a whip?
The marksdwarf's attack will still kill as with all thrown weapons (ie the weapon thrown makes no difference).
2. Does the Marksdwarf gain the bonus from his weapon when throwing?
No, all melee weapons give the same damage when thrown. They basically act as a less accurate version of the crossbow (has to roll 1 to hit instead of 1 or 2. Also note, I have increased the accuracy of ranged weapons so thrown weapons basically act like a crossbow in the original TSLLT).
3. Does the weapon return when thrown?
Erm, kind of. The player just magically gets his weapon back (just like in so many other RPGs with thrown melee weapons.)
