TRAPAVOID and pressure plates, TRAINABLE
« on: February 23, 2009, 05:36:34 pm »

As noted in the Gameplay Questions forum, I'm considering tweaking the game to give myself more of a challenge.

Does [trAPAVOID] imply that the creature will not trip pressure plates as well? If so, I'm probably not going to add it for gobbos-I don't want to be able to stop a siege via the application of rows upon rows of traps, but I also want to be able to use customized traps via pressure plate building.

That's because he didn't surround it in brackets. [trAP_AVOID].

I have no idea if trap_avoid blocks pressure plates.

I think it's a vastly amusing thought that elephants are so afraid of heights that when Dwarves invented the Z-axis, they couldn't bear to face dwarves in combat anymore.

Now that I remember:
Also, are there any odd behaviors I should know about for adding TRAINABLE to creatures other than dogs?

None that I can think of.

However, I don't think you can specify which type of animal you want to train, or assign to someone.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

I don't think that adding trainable requires a worldgen, so what I'm going to do is just charge on in and play the game, then add Trainable to creatures that I have that make sense to be trained as war animals.

Yeah, that does work.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

Look at the first post of this.
It's stickied to prevent this being required.
Argh, my stuff never gets read when it should be, even when it's permanently at the top of this forum.
What's the deal with that?
