He probably has a load of simple fortresses to test things, then changes something and has to gen another world.

Toady has a Erdös number. Its 6.

The chain:

Erdös (0)-> Clarence Raymond Adams (1)-> Anthony Perry Morse (2) ->Herbert  Federer (3) -> Frederick Justin Almgren, Jr. (4) -> Brian Cabell White (5) -> Tarn  Adams (6).

edit: if i did understand the concept right.

hmm, You're going by the advisors from mathematics geneology project, I assume?

I don't think advisor-student relationships automatically count unless there is a properly coauthored paper between the two (though there often is).

It's an Erdős number. Note the accents.

When words get transcribed to English, accents are often changed/omitted.  Properly speaking his name isn't Paul Erdős either, it's Erdős Pál.

I always think insane projects are what define a fortress. Like The water system in this one of mine.
I don't think Toady makes many, since he is busy doing other things than seeing what he can do with his own sandbox.

Alright, the definitive answer from here is that the collaboration graph has no path from Toady to Erdős.  Ah well, infinity is it.
