i was attacked by some goblins recently and my army was in the kitchen drinking when my cats charged at the goblins killing 2 of them giving my normal army enough time to finish their ale and join in the slaughter.

ps i only lost 5 of 15 cats all of them owned by crazy cat dwarf so she is pretty upset right now

I throw ten or so down a pit and then put goblins in one at a time. If they can rip out the throat and eyes they usually win, even as kittens.

I'm thinking a 10x10 room. M - Male Cat, F - Female Cat, = - Bridge.

Never open the chamber for any reason once the cats are put in and tied down. Wall up the entrance.

Connect the bridge to a lever, dropping hordes of kittens on the invading gobbos.

Bonus points: Build a bridge under this as well, and have a 15 z-level fall into a butchery for emergency food supplies.

No, no, no. Fire the cats at the goblins via a bridgeapult or else fire the goblins at the cats. Everything is better with increased velocity. If you can find a way to ignite either the gobbos or the cats while still leaving them alive before (or during) firing, all the better.
