I like to join in on this sort of game, especially if its a team PvP. I like the idea of being a merc.

A question: How would you convince the merc's to join your team?

Maybe for a team game make a buffing class and a debuffing class?

The current mage is pretty debuffing (total stun). Perhaps a priest class? Both mage and priest can only wield a crap weapon for short-range fighting and defense (Quarterstaff?). Priest can heal units within a certain range, and encourages team-playing. In a free-for-all-backstabgame no-one will choose mage or priest though, since neither is lethal.
I'm thinking maybe some sort of debuff that puts a temporary subtractor on your rolls, while still allowing the caster to strike (or having a multi-turn duration). As for a buffing class, that'd be pretty much pure team, yeah....

I don't like the idea of support classes. Instead of getting people to work together, they force one person to support the others. It tends to be divisive for the team. Better that everyone be able to play normally without anyone getting angry about them 'not playing their class right'.

You could also add races into the game. May make things a bit to complicated but allows a more diverse game play.

I won't participate in these formulative debates, but let it be said that I show great interest.

I propose we add a few extra elements at a time, so if suddenly a game just becomes horrible, we have a short list of features to zero out the problem.

Currently classes are just special added abilities. If a a crossbow wielder wanted to also be a mage he could. The mage's ability to stun could be quite useful to a crossbow dwarf as he could stun an enemy dwarf that is approaching the crossbow wielder as a means of escape from the melee weapon.

You can take me off the sign up list for declaring the guy who's currently alone and surrounded by enemies the winner in the last game. I'd also encourage other people play Strife's version instead. The rules are more interesting, and we could use more players.
