I would like to inform you that Ivan Ivanovich II and ussdefiant will be taking an extended vacation.
I will also let you know that I have brought in a new Russian military advisor, General Strife.
Strife is indeed a bit old. Far older than that youthful ussdefiant. His only noted achivement in the Russian military is writing papers about tanks. He is quoted as saying, "Gain superior armor before attacking, I will not let my men die in vain."
However, this change in mangement should increase morale, at least for the time being. General Strife would be able to direct artillery fire at the enemy.
General Strife will be given the dangerous task of protecting the Resistance Reichstag from General Illuminatuson. His army is at 580, and will likely be reinforced. His morale will also be around ~80%. Any assault on the Illuminatuson Regime will fail and would lead to more of our territory falling apart. Strife therefore will be given full reign to deal with this crisis.
I will not recommend a cut on Ivan's Technological Research. More trouble than it's worth.
STRIFE'S PLAN"Due to X-COM aid and the selling of alien technology, we have gained a total of 404 men. This is indeed a large enemy, but when confronted with the German juggerant, it will be hard to state that our men will be able to trimpuh.
My plan is this. We will spread our forces so that we defend the territory of the Reichstag, to ensure that the Germans don't gain more land. Defense of Węgierska Górka, our main base, will be important.
General Illuminatuson must attack. He knows that if he does not push the advantage, he will be seen as weak, and his regime will begin to crumble.
Illuminatuson will take his men and fight against us, but we will take defensive precautions and then goad his men into fighting at Węgierska Górka. If Illuminatuson fails in the attack on Węgierska Górka, we will be able to press the advantage and continue liberating the country next year, pounding the Illuminatuson Regime to ensure they will never rearm. If Illuminatuson succeds, we would have wore down his troops enough, allowing us to rearm and make another try.
The defeat at Vallaha was a terrible defeat. But we are intelligent. We will be able to recover from this disaster. Let us not lose hope."
