The trade depot crashes into dust beneath your feet. The sun is blocked out from above your heads as stone slides across the top. Most of your goods fall through the grating, but your own bodies won't fit. It sinks in that the Dwarves have betrayed you, and trapped you underground. The stone slides together underneath the grating, and crushes one of the traders whose legs were trapped in the grating. Sucks to be him.
... Except he was the chief trader. You are alone underground with an unconscious leader.
You then realise that your greatest aspiration in life was to be an adventurer. You just didn't know why. Destiny. Yes, destiny. That must be it. Right? Right? Go with that for now. There are six of you, and it should be pretty easy to get out of this mess if you work together.
... Right? Right?
You notice that a pile of rocks looks like it was put there to block exit. It doesn't look very strong.

Anything that you are not good or bad at, you are average at. There are mechanics behind this, but it's more fun if you don't know what they are.
To start playing: Go into the human language file of your DF game, and pick three words you like. That is your name. Pick one of the characters that hasn't been taken. That is your character. Type words into the post that form a mix of dialogue and the action you want to take. That is your action for the turn.
If I am online and ready to update, a turn will consist of three or more players taking actions. Otherwise they can collect until everyone has taken an action.
The only goal of the game is to find daylight again. This may happen fast, or it may happen slow depending on if you are moving in the right direction. Also, there is no reason for you to believe that this is vanilla DF. It's entirely possible that it isn't. Also, you are likely to die in a horrible and/or awesome way. 80-100% likely.
But I guess, being here you know that the name of the game is Losing Is Fun. Winning is also fun, and possible. Just a lot less likely.
