Last update of the night. Been sort of falling asleep here anyway.

Update 10:

Eriw continues for a while. He finds a cave spider along the floor. The cave spider is friendly.

Rash cooperates, and says the two words are "DANGER FIREIMP." It looks like the dwarves were a little too rushed to properly engrave the door. I will assume no one runs since the door looks very secure besides the hidden pressure plate in the wall.

The boarded door has a few words in different languages. One of the languages is human. It reads "Chasm Outpost 3. GO AWAY HUMANS". You see a weapon trap beneath you, but it appears to be jammed. Or inactive. Still, you easily step away from where the weapon would come out. It looks like a spear.

'Phew,' Teshil thought. 'Close one.'

She inspects the weapon trap carefully, thinking about the sign.

"If the door is boarded up... That means the survivors are further down the hall!"

She continues further down the hallway.

As much as Hok wants to stay away from the creepy long hall, he knows from experience that fire imps are not terribly good for his health. Also, he has had his own run-ins with the little devils. If anything bad is in the other hall, he would see Teshil's body. So doing hi best to avoid being seen, he sneaks towards where Teshil is.

Eriw, forgetting how many friends he might have in a cave, continues running, but takes the cave spider with him, and names it...

vn deib

But since Vn wasn't much of a name, Eriw named it Deib.

"Err... right then, fire imps.  I don't think any of us want to go through that door.  Let's go back the other way."  Rash waves around the charter as if to lend authority to his words, and then heads down the hallway away from the door, keeping an eye out for the kobold as he does.

Update 11:

Teshil finds another long hallway. She can see the end though. There appear to be tracks visible leading down the hallway.

Hok finds himself joined up with the people he was trying to sneak away from. Everyone had the same idea. They are all within reading distance of the graffiti.

Deib is placed in Eriw's inventory in the same abstract manner everyone's inventory is stored.

Hok finds a gold coin.

"Hmm..." Teshil spoke. "Tracks?"

She examines them more closely.

Eriw, comforted by his new pet, continues moving fairly quickly down the hall, but now also scans the floor for bugs. But he cares more for moving than for finding more bugs.

Ano, cautious about the potential for fire imps to show up, tries to stay with the group and stay aware of anything that might be following them. He glances backwards occasionally.

Shoneth guards the rear of the group as a human shield.

The topic wasn't emailing me the notices. :(

Update 12:

Teshil follows the tracks to find one that looks somewhat complete. She notices the walls beside her vanish, and that she has stepped onto a stone bridge. The bridge is over the chasm.

The graffiti looks like a log entry, and miner's notes.

"10th Sandstone: Finished Outpost 3's rooms.

21st Sandstone: Finished the door to the exit.

3rd Moonstone: Trapped the beast in the exit. Damn thing took out three of my men. Starting construction on a new exit.

30th Moonstone: Finished new exit near Outpost 3. It's a little close to the chasm, but if we're leaving it's an emergency anyway..."

Eriw continues forward, but finds no more bugs so far.

Rash mutters something about the quality of guards these days and what the hell am I paying you people for anyway, but then he reads the graffiti over again and brightens up.  "It talks about an exit!" he exclaims happily.  "There was an old one, but it had some kind of monster, perhaps a fire imp." he muses,  "But then they made a new one.  Its probably down this way!"  Rash continues forward and then left around the corner, always keeping a sharp eye out for his escaped slave.
