A year is not equal to precisely 365 days...

Sometimes we skip the leap year...

365: days in a normal year,
+ 0.25: 1 in 4 years has a leap day,
- 0.01: except years divisible by 100 don't have a leap day,
+ 0.0025: except years divisible by 400 do.
= 365.2425: length of a year in the Gregorian calendar.

365.24219 +- 0.00003 is the true astronomical value.

this is the first time i'm disappointed by the google calculator.

edit:

I just filled out a google feedback form to let them know about beard seconds.

It would seem that someone at Google listened!

http://www.google.com/search?q=one+foot+in+beard-seconds

And this very thread is second on the search page. ;D

I feel like a God. Well, a demi-God. Tarn gets the first one. But wow... I was just giddy going through this. Second on Google... I vote everyone fills out a form to get it added in the calculator. Do it!

And everything everyone is talking about is hilarious to read through.

:) :) :)

Edit:

monolar, Where exactly IS the feedback form one could fill out?

Edit Edit:

I used this, personally. At the bottom. Be as informative as possible, tell them or link to the Wikipedia article. Everybody tell Google to add beard-seconds to Google Calculator!

Alright, this is fun. One Hectare equals 4.0 x 1020 square beard-seconds. Or 400 square Beard-exaseconds. An exasecond is written as 'Es'. Therefore, a hectare is 400 square BeEs. :D ;D

isnt a dwarfbeard-second a little higher than a human beard-second? like say 1,5 beard-second = 1 dwarf-beard-second?

well that's easy to convert

that # in beard seconds divided by 60 divided by 60 divided by 24 divided by 365.

or just B/31536000, where B= # in beard-seconds, if you'd prefer it didn't look like a gnarly homework question about unit conversions.

As I see it, all dwarves are born with a (mostly) full beard, and this beard then continues to grow for the rest of his/her life at roughly the same rate as a human beard. Then again, apparently female dwarves don't have beards canonically, so I really don't know what to believe anymore.
