Sparring Idea
« on: February 19, 2009, 07:01:58 pm »

I think I have a solution for the sparring problems! Training dummies! The recruits can stab them, punch them, and all that.

1:  This is a common suggestion.  In the future, please use the search feature to check to see if a suggestion has been made before.  You might also want to read the dev notes.

Thanks and Welcome

Edit:  Thanks for changing the title.

I think I have a solution to thread duplication. Use the search function. And read the posting rules, they're there above the forum.

If I wanted to recreate the world of one of my favorite stories, I should be able to specify that there is a civilization called Groan, ruled by Earls from a castle called Gormanghast.
You won't have trouble supplying the Countess with cats, or producing the annual idols to be offerred to the castle. Every fortress is a pale reflection of Ghormenghast..

Next Version™'s barracks/sparring option sorting will allow something better than this - use of expendable immigrants as training dummies! :D

it is a pretty good suggestion though.

The ideas in the index aren't bad, we just already have them. --a lot.

Most of them are good ideas. If people didn't think they were good, they wouldn't suggest them all the time.

Org, please change your thread title so future searchers can find it.

I should note that Training dummies are hardly safe. They can also cause injuries.

They are safer than dueling with a dwarf that has an artifact mace.

Unless it had a power making it incapable of inflicting serious wounds.

Also I think you mean Sword or Spear. I don't think even an artifact blunt weapon is all that deadly in training.

Though it isn't so much an objection as a: Training dummies do not nessisarily remove injuries in training... so don't treat them as if they do.

The problem is, that most of the new users won't check out your "Suggestions not to make" topic at all... ;D
Anyway, why am I posting in this topic:

Should training dummies wear down?

Definitely.
