Multiple Attacks with one Attack, and a hint of a Mod to come.
« on: February 19, 2009, 12:56:04 am »

I need to know what happens when you add multiple damage tags to one weapon. For example, a sword with two;

[140:SLASH]

Damage tags. Also, while I've been doing some experiments with speed 1 creatures and the apparent time stop they cause(I know it isn't actually stopping time), but if anyone else has some insights and some results with them, please share them.

It will only use the last damage.  Just overwrites the others.

Better question:

what happens with a creature with multiple primary attack tokens? like this:

   [ATTACK:MAIN:BYTYPE:GRASP:punch:punches:1:2:BLUDGEON][ATTACKFLAG_WITH]
   [ATTACK:MAIN:BYTYPE:MOUTH:bite:bites:1:1:GORE][ATTACKFLAG_CANLATCH]

how does it decide what to attack with?

and how does a hydra decide which mouth to bite with?

what about dwarves that are dual-wielding weapons?

if it looses hands - it will attack with bite. If it will loose head, it will attack with hands.

Dwarves can't dual wield.  They may have a weapon in both hands but they will use the weapon in their primary hand first and won't switch to the other hand unless they lose their main weapon.

doesn't answer the question. what if loses neither? SECONDARY attacks versus MAIN attacks are obvious. what about creatures with multiple parts that are MAIN attackers? again, hydra with  7 mouths has MAIN attack bite. How many, or which, heads does it bite with?

Hydras are an annoying topic, so maybe they are a poor example...
For a better example, consider the 'Martial Arts Mod,' which sometimes has the averse effect of allowing zombies to roundhouse kick you in the head...
It basically adds several MAIN attacks, and the attacks are randomly selected, if you have the correct appendage to do the attack with...
if all your main attacks are disabled, then you will do a secondary attack

Creatures, although they have 7 heads, for instance, only get one attack per turn as of now. i think this is getting fixed in the next release, but right now a hydra will stupidly stare at you with 6 heads while biting you with one...
