Amusing super weapons
« on: February 18, 2009, 09:12:54 pm »

Name says it all folks. A thread about your most insane superweapons ever.
Mine: the M-bomb

A giant empty bullet shell made of stone and hanging on the top z-level. used pump towers to fill it with magma.
Elves never saw it coming. I love the massive fires and dust ;D

I've never actually constructed this. But that doesn't matter.

The Aquifury: An intricate series of pumps designed to instantaneously flood the surface of the map by drawing water from an aquifer. Bonus points for having the pumping and draining systems calibrated to produce flows suitable for pushing stuff off the map.

The Bridge to Ugathziril
Base design made in a fort of that name, it involve a seriest of islands and bridges.  First island - cage traps.  Second island - weapon traps.  Third island - pressureplate triggered spike traps.  Final island - automatically refilling magma trap.  The last could be made to pour forever, and was normally supplied by a pump.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

Fill the Forge/Firing My Laser:

If you are lucky enough to last long enough to get into my arena, beware, I may Fill the Forge; and remember Dwarven Warriors to use the exits through the Hall, and if any fucker thinks they have something, they'll be blended when they get in the general proximity of it's mouth.

When the airlocks/fortification/passageways have been locked, the Arena succumbs to the deadliest Arena Function, Fill the Forge, everyone, and about 5z are filled to the brim, and everyone peacefully dozes off into the red, and flaming depths.

When the time has come, and some dumb ass wants to step on my grill, they get what I was packing in the frontal ports.
I just release the Pass Bulkheads, and the whole shit storm comes and smites them, and then there are the fires, I do irrigate the fields for the trees and shrubs, and all the more to catch the flame.

Canine Guardian, strengthened in the arts of Rangers, and Marksdwarves, they usually are swamped in a large group of dogs, and don't worry, I can butcher any of them at anytime!

I know you're speaking English but I don't know what you're saying.  I'm sensing magma somehow, but that's it.

Eh. Nobody has the right to have something be called a superweapon unless they have paved the sky in order to mount a facility under it that can cause cave-ins anywhere on the map desired.

 At best these are deathtraps.

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

The Lever - there is nothing you can't destroy, and little you can't do, through the proper application of a lever.

As for Twilight Fans, last I checked, they weren't an implimented Dwarf Fortress feature. :p

You should be able to feed Cow (Tame) some Sewer Brew and assign them like war dogs so that they projectile vomit torrents of bile at enemies. There isn't enough vomit covering the outside of my fortress, that's for sure...

Charons crossing:
River of Lava (and/or Water) with a large number of randomly activated bridges (Noble Slave power) and "safe" platforms, funtimes ensue.

Tip: try to get all the victims to the crossing before attempting to activate.
