How do you kill ally dwarfs?

I was going to attempt a hermit challenge, but I don't know how to kill his 6 companions...
How would I go about this?

Easiest way is to just lock them in a room and let them starve to death.

Or, if you feel especially awesome, have them live as WILD HUNTER GATHERERS while the hermit is sealed inside the mountain.

1) Build a large tower. Not a fancy one; a long stack of up/down stairs will do.

2) Build a one-tile bridge at the top of it.

3) Have them build a wall at the other side of the bridge.

4) Repeat step 3 five more times.

To be more specific on animal breeding:

Any female animal NOT in a cage can be impregnated by any male animal of that species on the map (wild, pet, tame, or merchant). They do not need to have any way to get to one another.

Female animals that have been impregnated but are now in a cage will still give birth.

Generally, I keep around one healthy male of any given type and slaughter the rest (hunting and war animals excepted, of course). All baby animals are put into a cage until grown.

Any non-working animals (which is just dogs, unless you're using modded files) that I want to breed are chained up in a safe place. Animals killed by invaders are NOT butcherable, so keep that in mind if you plan on using animals as an early warning device against ambushes.

In my latest fort I've been enlisting all migrants and stationing them on a retracting bridge over the top of the magma vent, then locking the door and pulling the lever.
No mess.

Designate his friends for butchery with dwarf companion

Make sure you picked a dwarf with a sufficiently crazy personality
