after Dwarf Fortress There Was...
« on: February 18, 2009, 01:11:58 pm »

OK, I know Dwarf Fortress is BY FAR not complete yet. And were all placing suggestions that will make it take longer, so it may be a few dozen years before we see any of these, but this is a collection of possible and existing titles in the Armok series:

Slaves To Armok, God of blood:

Toady's original, little to do, though.

Slaves To Armok, God of blood, chapter two: Dwarf fortress:

Here's were we're at, working from pure awesome, to pure immortally awesome.

Slaves To Armok, God of blood, chapter Three: Gnomish rage:

OK, dwarves are short. But Gnomes are short by Dwarven standards, are intelligent as anything, and always end up with their creations blowing up in their face. this would need more advanced physics, since we'd be making things like slingshot/catapult devices instead of stairs. we'd desighn massive Rube Goldburgh devices for simple tasks as cutting toe nails. long story short: more technology.

Slaves To Armok, God of blood, Chapter Four: The Inner Soul.

Man, if we even all survived long enough to see this chapter, it would probably be more of a "Techno-Fantasy", were swords are infused with energy, armor contains hydraulics, etc. lasers, flying ships, and so on. it would probably focus more on the personalities, and generate massive storylines for us to figure out and follow, were someone/something discover's it's/something elses soul, depending on the complexity of the *galaxy* generator by that point.

Yah, if toady even finnishes dwarf fortress, the next one would probably have to be finnished by his kids, and the titles WILL have changed, probably with hundreds more in between, but we can expect more awsome in the mean time.

what wishful thinking for other Bay 12 games productions do you have?

Slaves To Armok, God of blood, Chapter Five: The Sons of The Sun

Because Toady could make a kickass capital ship simulator.

Slaves to Armok, God of Blood, Chapter 7: The Hand that Creates

Universe simulator. Often used for world leaders to simulate galaxy spanning wars. It is so detailed you can get reports on how each person's DNA molecules are doing. The high energy particle hits the DNA. It explodes in a gory mess!

Slaves to Armok, God of Blood, Chapter 8: Armok's Dog, Poochie.

By this point Bay12 is taken over by EA and starts to make crappy games, one of which include this game where you have to... uh... screw it. Lets throw "Animal Simulators" at it and see what comes out the other end.

The thing that confuses me about dorfs is this. Dorf 1 dies in an avalance or somesuch. Dorf 2 is friends with dorf 3 and dorf 1. Dorf 2 berserks because of his friends death and kills dorf 3. also a friend. W. T. F.
