Hmm. This is derailment. Let us stop playing the blame game for something that happened thousands of years ago.

I'd like to throw one thing into the mix though.

Memory corruption.

I oppose memory corruption on principle.

Memory corruption is a natural process that happens with memories. Over time, they change. There was an experiment that proved without a doubt that this thing is real. How? Well it went like this.

Two lab folk gathered a group of people to go on a tour of an area. What they didn't know is that the lab folk made a fake UFO crash there. They mounted cameras on everyone's head to catch exactly what they see. A month later, they asked the people what they saw. A person that only saw one guard, saw 3. A person that thought the UFO was green, when it was blue. Etc.

Now you must remember the bible was written down after GENERATIONS of mouth to ear. Couple memory corruption with the natural augmentation people apply to stories, their own versions, misunderstood parts, etc. The result becomes a hodge podge mix of rubbish.

And that it was also written on what bits and pieces they could find to write things on while the prophet was alive, and people were expected to memorize it word for word, accent for accent (Arabic grammar is based off of the Quran.)

Compared to remembering without memorization, this tends to last longer.

Meh. Over in the Jewish Bible, it's not even mentioned. (I haven't seen it yet. But it's PROBABLY mentioned.)

If you're refering to the Torah: Wel DUH! that was written over several thousend years which were all prior to jesus. If you're refering to later texts that have been accepted as canon: Nearly all of them deal with explaining the Torah, so it's highly unlikely that a text dealing with the death (or even the life) of jesus would become canon...

Anyway, if we look at the current situation in Israel, one of the main problems seems to be that both the Israeli's and the Palestines are at least partialy justified in their course of action (if not always in their methodes). The palestines are fighting to retake their home from those who invaded and opressed them (unless you'd call England and France handing out random pieces of territory to people from all over the world by another name?), while at the same time Israel is defending itself against a militant group bent on overtaking (part of) the country. Either course of action would be the right one from one nation's view and wrong from the other. This means that the discision to support israel or the palestines is, as far as morals are concerned, quite arbitrary.
